Almost excited to see just how macabre the 5th circuit can get with this. Gonna assume we’ll all be able to buy an F-16 by Labor Day.
Is there anything stopping localities from taxing insane rates on ammunition? If someone wants to buy a bullet, charge them 1000% in taxes. I despise guns.
Obsession with rate cuts is dumb. Interest rates should be as high as possible without hurting employment and growth. Other ways to promote home ownership than letting shitty inefficient businesses that survive on cheap debt survive far past their point of usefulness.
This whole country is built on debt, cheap or otherwise. Now isn’t the best time to try and fix it. Kick the can down the road until Trump is dead or in prison. The housing market should’ve been targeted 2 years ago. Young voters are completely priced out. It’s easy to say keep rates high while you sit on your 2.5…. Try buying a 400k starter home at 7.5. You’ll pay 1.2 million. They’re taking notice. The only thing Trump is good for is low rates, he’ll make sure they know that. It’s not a great time for inflation to trend up right after he said cuts were coming. Maybe they’ll cut anyway.
I agree 100% and have long considered the artificially low interest rates to be problematic and I believe it has led to the current housing issues (and a few other wealth inequality issues)
1. I’m looking forward to owning an arsenal of mini nuclear weapons to defend myself against the tyranny of the US government. 2. Make it illegal for corporate entities to own residential housing. Fuck em.
there were numerous spelling errors in the original document. https://www.usconstitution.net/cons...ence,",hastily after the Convention concluded. "Right to bear arms" should be "Right to bare arms"
It's a complicated problem. Yes, low rates fed into the housing value boom of 20/21. That had to be stopped. But now you have sky high values and sky high rates so anyone that didn't own prior to rates going up is just fucked. Idk how you fix other than just build build build and hope volume brings values down. But you don't want them down too much bc then you have properties upside down and that's no bueno. Whole situation is fucked. Rates should have never been as low as they were. We're paying for those sins now and there's no easy solution.
This needs to be a permanent asterisk for all the vice signaling on the topic. Need to know how to judge
She’ll get more attention for her concerns by taking this public stance than she ever would have by just showing up and voting.
The Fed has one purpose: to keep the money at the top. Fuck! The rich aren’t making enough money due to high inventory. Better lower rates. Fuck! The plebes have too much purchasing power. Better raise rates.
"I'm a proud democrat that supports a woman's right to choose. That's why i'm voting Republican down ballot this fall."
You should care if you want to win back the heart and soul of America. Awful, gross, snarky art students at bad colleges.
dems: fail to use power to protect reproductive rights multiple times young voter: I won't vote for them again because of this wonky geniuses noticing a two-party state: but that means the other guys might win you fucking moron! keep voting Dem even though they don't do the thing you want, otherwise the other guys might win! you rube! wow, some of y'all should have a NYT column
Dems: feckless twats that at least pay lip service to protecting reproductive rights, even though they didn’t when they had the chance GOP: we are aggressively going to strip any and every reproductive right a woman has if given even half the chance young Dem voter: I’m so mad at Dems for not protecting me that I have no choice but to vote for the people who have actively informed me in advance that they will flog me mercilessly once they’re in power Iron Mickey: you TMB’ers are so stupid because here in my pretend world of academia where we shit rainbows and puppies there is an intellectually fascinating discussion to be had on this topic and real world facts don’t exist
Roe v Wade got overturned because trump won in 2016. Could congress had tried to make it the law of the land prior to that? Sure. Would it have ever happened? Probably not. only people who have the political appetite to do it now are democrats. So voting for trump makes so much sense!
