Local group I’m in did a custom barrel where they added additional heartwood tidbits to the barrel and then aged it a little longer. Sold it through a store in Braselton.
Store near here is doing a big drop in a few weeks. That's one of the bottles up for grabs. I'm debating going over and trying my hand.
My wife and stepdad both won Blanton’s gold. I’ve not hit. A guy in the local Man City group had his mom win ORVW 10 for him
Sorry, should’ve just asked if someone was on record as in for the $4,000 bottle instead of saying I wouldn’t plan to enter
What they don't tell you is those super high end bourbons are probably qty (3) for the entire state and 500k+ entrants
If you’re looking for better odds, got an email from Nevada H&C Distilling about this charity raffle with some good prizes. 8 prizes, 1500 raffle tickets. $50 for 1, $100 for 3, $150 for 5.
Neo posted one this morning too, it’s an Ohio fb group. 400 tickets 20 a piece winner gets er17 or gts
It isn’t their raffle so may want to check out the raffle. They just shared it saying this is a good charity
Ahh makes sense. I knew the Old Fitz was out but forgot about this one being the very very special thing.
I've been more active recently in the Twitter Bourbon community and in a few FB/Discord groups. Came across this guy on Twitter who I have interacted with a bunch and bought these 3 Nashville Barrel picks from. They are so fucking good. Never had NBC before. The Operation was caramel and peach, and the Rock Em Sock Em Robots is caramel cherry fizz. Both are 7 year MGP.
These are big time hit. The guys who select these are friends with the owner of NBC and one of the guys also has a room that looks like this, so I trust them.
Pretty good. Drinks pretty hot for 118. Not completely blown away or anything though. Think I prefer their Rickhouse proof. Especially the soft red wheat.
Not any more of those specifically, but my other store has a different one in that I’ve bought 3 of now.
