You have to be a specific kind of seafood fan to pick #1. There aren’t going to be many people picking 5, 7, or 8.

    This is a good question.

With the inclusion of Louisiana, 6 makes a really strong push.

2 and 9 are weird -- are you going by NYC/California local cuisine, or by the fact that they have some of the most options/different types of cuisine of anywhere in the US?

10 is good, but not much diversity. Great Asian cuisine, though.

    Think I'd chose 6

I think Louisiana gives it to 6, Texas has pretty similar food to most of the south plus a notch better Mexican. Flip Louisiana to 4 and the gulf seafood plus oysters from both gulf and Atlantic out it in front.

Louisiana should be it's own region and ranked #1. Louisiana cuisine and Texas BBQ makes #6 and easy #1. Nothing else is remotely close.

TX BBQ is like the 3rd or 4th best BBQ but yeah, TX BBQ, Cajun food, and Mexican food from NM and TX, #6 is a clear winner.

Then #4 (top 3 types of BBQ, fried chicken, Caribbean food). I know PR is in #2, but you get the same stuff in Miami along side Venezuelan/Colombian/Cuban

Meh. I've been all over Carolina, meh. There's a couple of spots that do whole hog and that's great but overall pork is just so bland and that's all they do. And mustard sauce is ass. Carolina is more known for vinegar than tomato and thats bad too. Memphis is pork based too but better sauce so yea I have Texas a solid 2.

6 is the best but 9 is closer than some may think. Main point I’d like to make is that AZ has the best Mexican food in the US. New Mexico deserves credit for slightly better use of chilis but top to bottom AZ is your reigning champ.

The best smoked brisket is called pastrami and you probably have to give that to region #2 - not Texas. Texas brisket is overrated and inferior.

Also, whole hog with a vinegar sauce is amazing.

One needs mustard or kraut to eat while the other gets you side eye if you choose to add sauce kinda says it all. I like pastrami, it's a great deli meat though.

You sit down and eat a plate of pastrami as the main course? No, you don't. It's a deli meat for sandwiches.

You've either never had good brisket or you just have terrible taste buds. It's one or the other.
