It's solid but overpriced. It doesn't have much mouthfeel and not a very long finish but it is pleasant.
1924 should be the top of the Whiskey Row series at like $75 and it would be great. At 115+ it’s just too much with so many other options. I didn’t get any apple cider vinegar on it
I didn’t get any cider vinegar either. You’re in Nashville, right? I’d be happy to give you a sample if you want.
Football team did a bourbon raffle. $50 got 3 tickets out of total 300 sold. I won and got blantons, Weller reserve, Weller antique, stagg, buffalo trace, eagle rare, eh Taylor and Sazerac rye. nothing crazy rare but very happy!
If that’s a typo for Stagg, that’s still a tough get and very nice win. Way more value than what you paid
fixed. Agree great value and was excited. Even though I wasn’t at the event since my son had a b-ball game, so my phone was going crazy. Everyone was ready to party and watch wrestling finals.
Very nice. Even going out and waiting, I’ve only had 2 times where I’d actually have been able to get a bottle of it. Once I did, once I took Weller FP over it but saw plenty taking it over the FP
That’s like $350 retail price of whiskey for $50? Am I reading that right? Not even considering secondary, that’s insane.
It's airport only and it's not nearly as good as the 12. It's a bit watery to me, but kind of average.
It's supposed to be great, but maybe not quite as good as the DO. I should know shortly thanks to Keef . That said, if you can buy it anywhere close to retail it's a definite buy.
I wouldn't, but i have tried neither. I would guess they are pretty close on secondary. I just think the 3th colony seems a little easier to find if you get lucky.
If anyone’s interested, group is releasing a 10 year Binders Rye for $165 tonight. I haven’t seen many of these out there so wanted to offer here as well. 51 Rye | 49 Malted Barley Aged in #3 Char Barrels 10yrs 10m old.
If anyone is interested in the Holladay 7 year 18 barrel small batch Bourbon Lore bottle, sign up here at the bottom of the page for early access at 11AM. The rest of the allocation goes on sale on Wednesday. They have around 3000 bottles. It is supposed to be excellent. It was selected by some big industry influencers and they are all saying great things about it. https://bourbonlore.com/
NEBC - it's the discord group I've posted in here a few times. Sold out the rye yesterday and will have an 8 year bourbon from Binders in 2 months.
How is this stuff? I've seen a lot of people hyping it recently and have seen a few bottles in stores
Smooth, spicy, sweet. I'm still marinating on what I think. I need to drink it more. Had two big glasses of it Saturday. I'm leaning towards it is very good. I'm also thinking it would be a little better if it wasn't so sweet. But that's nitpicking.
Just shipped mine to a friend in Nebraska. He’s driving down in a month so I can wait assuming he has it by then.
I was going to grab one of these last night but got busy and by the time I checked they were gone. I bet it's great.
Yes, I have read very good things so far. David Thomas Tao did a brief review today also. I’ve only heard one lukewarm take so far that it is just similar to the SRW RS and The SRW BiB, which to me is a good thing.
I'm sure I won't be able to find any, but I'll be in Missouri this weekend for Easter and will be on the lookout. Does anyone know if this was also released to stores, or just the online release?
Seelbachs is so weird. Those K.Luke I ordered last week are showing up today. But something I ordered over two weeks ago is still waiting to be shipped.
