Bet $50 on all of the underdogs except in the UNC game today and am officially up thanks to that game with still a few to go. Gohkle for tourney MVP
Surprisingly she’s handling it well, although (understandably) calling for them to give Cal his walking papers. It was tough hiding my excitement every time Oakland hit a 3.
Yep, just saw that tweet, too. And apparently has 4 more 5* kids coming in next year, may as well run it back (EDIT: also has 2 4* committed, too).
SugarShaun i turned the USMNT match off one of my TVs after Blake went down with the ball in the 95th minute. I just looked now and saw they won….what the fuck happened. I had to look five times to make sure I wasn’t seeing things.
Puli had another shit corner but near post header onto a Jamaican defender who had a perfect own goal header at the death which left Jamaica broken Good result, terrible performance
I switched over to a tourney game and was pissed at how bad they looked. Unreal. I’ll have to look up the OG.
I was cooking watching wrestling, basketball, and that; was nuts. First shot of night after got me buzzed
I wonder if Ballard, Grayes, and Antwi all look at the portal after seeing Smith come online. 2024 is going to be Egbuka, Tate, Innis and Smith. 2025 has the last three back again.
Birm thinks Bryson Rodgers has passed/will pass Jayden Ballard as well. Plus, Mylan Graham will be here this summer. I'd be shocked if at least two of Ballard/Grayes/Antwi do not transfer.
We are sort of fucked from a depth standpoint if any more of the WR's leave. And I dont mean from a game perspective (although we could always see a rash of injuries at WR like we did at RB 2 years ago), but rather just having bodies to practice and eat up snaps in blowouts. Cant imagine we would like to be down to 7 or so scholarship WR's
I wonder if Hartline rethinks his rotation, just to prevent more guys from leaving. I don't know which strategy is best. Want to have the best guys on the field at all times, but also need to get everyone experience, and can't lose your depth each year.
Obviously want as much depth as possible but if we’re playing a walk on in the slot during a blowout I don’t think it will be the end of the world
Reading PFF’s best returning corners and Denzel Burke leads a “young but talented secondary” why did I ever give this foolish site a dime
Charles DeMar you live in Houston. Find me the Sam McGuffie parody video from like 15 years ago that went viral. I can’t find it online now. Thanks.
It would be easier to break into Fort Knox and Area 51 at the same time than it would be to find that video. I've looked everywhere.
Thought I still had it in my gmail but that video is now gone unfortunately, will check with some friends from law school later as it was pretty popular with our crew back in the day. And also checked my old hotmail account for it, but the only result was a 2007 email from Birm's older brother :( Spoiler: R.I.P.
JB Shugarts, McGuffie's fellow Texan ;) Spoiler: hi And that email had like 3 articles on the committment, many of Bob's emails were really thorough like that after a commitment or big news ;) Here's the end of one where the search term hit:
My first real intro to recruiting was a big email chain group like that filled with guys 30 years my senior
Yes, before we had BTN down here Bob used to hook me up with copies of the games that i couldn't get on espn gameplan or nationally. And i usually received the tapes/DVDs within a few days, which is even more impressive considering i was basically just paying him a little more than his cost for the tape and shipping. I first crossed paths with him on the Scout board probably close to 20 years ago now and he was the first to respond to a post about looking for a copy of one of the games; soon after i was added to his buckeye email list whenever something noteworthy happened. He was a super nice guy and would be absolutely floored and thrilled to see how far Birm has advanced in the OSU media world these days, and i of course wish he was around to enjoy it. But unfortunately he passed suddenly and unexpectedly in late March of 2011, R.I.P. Spoiler: Some of the DVDs
Mine was missing out on Kijana Carter to Penn State, when he was the top player in the country playing right in our backyard in Westerville. Carter was drafted No. 1 overall by the Bengals. He was named Kijana after a character in one of the Shaft movies.
We had a 6 year window where Michigan had two Heisman winners from Ohio (Howard and Woodson) and Penn State had the No. 1 overall pick from Ohio (Carter) and another Heisman finalist (Enis). The internet would melt if that ever happened again.
The first recruitment I remember being invested in was Buster Davis, a five star lb that went to FSU. We ended up with AJ Hawk instead
