We had an assistant act as HC for a portion of the season as Howard had major cardiac surgery shortly before the season. As he started to recover he first acted as an assistant on the bench instead of HC. He got tossed one of those games for chirping at the refs.
Wisconsin came to Lincoln, NE on Feb 1st with a 16-4 (8-1 B1G) record and ranked 6th in the nation. They are 2-7 since and are now 18-11 (10-8 B1G).

Honestly outside of Purdue and Illinois we should all be pretty ashamed. What a trash conference this year. If any Minnesota or Nebraska fans enjoyed their season that's fine also.
I very much enjoyed our season. I would love to make the B1G tourney semis and then win a game in the NCAA tournament for the first time in school history, as well.
After the last 3 years I’m happy to be competitive again. But, I know part of being competitive is that the league isn’t very good this year. For instance, I watched Indiana twice this week and they won both times. But their guards would be below average in mid-major basketball. How does that happen at a school like Indiana?
Ohio State was having its worst basketball season since the 1990’s when we fired Holtmann. After our 2/13 loss to Wisconsin, we were 4-10 in Big Ten play and had lost 9 of our last 11. We didn’t have a road win since January of 2023 the prior season. Then we upset Purdue with a new coach and closed by winning 5/6. At 19-11 and 54 in NCAA NET, we probably need a deeper run in the Big Ten tourney than we’re going to make, but we could knock out Iowa from the NCAA bubble and take that spot on the bubble if we get past Illinois.
