Just noticed that the one at work play was with centro-matic. Man, what a great band. Really regret missing them. Calling Thermatico is up there for me. The mighty midshipmen is great too.
Where do you live? I'm in Atlanta and found this place called Atlanta Art Solutions that does it through my old frame shop.
Depends on the size. The trucker ones which are typically 11x17 are around $50 whereas bigger ones like 18x24 are $85. It's well worth it to make a poster pop without having to frame it. You can't really tell from the picture I posted but you can pick a border color too that'll help the print/poster itself pop a little more and they're great about recommendations there. I got one from DBT's most recent show here that has a big ole skeleton and they put a textured bone border on it.
So Jason doing the Zach Bryan shows is his way of paying for his divorce? Also almost all the lyrics in Weathervanes hit so much differently now than before
I think the fanhoods align significantly and it's an opportunity for him to grow his audience in front of some really good crowds. Zach credits Jason as his biggest songwriting influence and has clearly earned Jason's respect. I think it's just a rare opportunity for him to cash in on a big bag and play in front of some people that will appreciate his artistry. I doubt it's 100% a mercenary thing otherwise you'd see him at Coachella and other festivals like it.
Having attended Isbell and ZB shows about a month apart last summer I'm not sure there's as much as overlap as you'd think. ZB crowd seemed more likely to appreciate Morgan Wallen's "artistry" than Isbell's.
Bryan gets it imo. He did a TikTok cover of King of Oklahoma and thanked Jason for how it made him feel. They've had some sort of relationship for a while. Love what he said about Childers finally having a radio hit. "Imagine being radio (whoever the hell that is), hearing [Childers’] ‘Shake the Frost’ and being like, ‘no no let’s go with the Applebees song,'” Bryan wrote,
As someone who has come around on Bryan, I think he has it in him but yeah his crowd is definitely neon.
Walk in to Hiss Golden Messenger show and woman immediately says isn’t it sad Jason and Amanda got a divorce? I was like wasn’t it obvious.
I feel like Tyler Childers was similar in this but he switched his music up before this could fully happen
I’d imagine it’s very challenging to deal with that kind of fame coming so quickly. He went from being in the military and basically unknown to selling out stadiums and arenas in, what, 2 years?
Saw ZB at Palomino Fest at the Rose Bowl. Unreal lineup with Isbell, Kacey Musgraves, Willie Nelson, Turnpike, Charlie Crocket, Nikki Lane. Talk about an lineup
Seen a lot of talk recently about Isbell struggling with his voice. Looked up a video from his show last night and man it’s rough
a couple spots sounded rough but overall not that bad. new teeth plus chain smoking? or maybe hes just sick
and expensive asf. had one in the Pawn shop 12ish years ago. Sold it for $600. Now they sell for 3-5k
Looks like I’ll probably be busy during the ATL date, so I might have to pull up in Charlotte or BHam for this. They played most of SRO and a bunch of gems from Pizza Deliverance at the Friday homecoming show in like 2019. It was one of my favorite DBT shows I’ve seen
