Point being that if he never existed guys wouldnt swing for speed the way they do. Sure, he might not win 80+ times, but nobody on tour swings the way they do without him. none of the threats to him exist without him.
Big hitting outliers existed in every era. Short game excellence under pressure is a rarity. Tiger and Jack had both, hence their dominance.
Tiger and Jack exploited being longer than everyone. It was a huge part of their advantage. They were just also good at the short stuff. (hey Scottie)
Where did I argue against that? I said I agreed that he changed the game. My argument is he came in at a time when there wasn't a lot of steady competition. There's a reason why they had "Tiger or the field" discussions. He had 1 real challenger, and until 2004 was a choke artist. Therefore, he became uber dominant because of his athleticism, regimen, etc. People are enthralled with success, so seeing someone that dominant, made people want to watch more. Some to see him succeed, some to see if he'd fail.
He came in at a time where there wasn’t competition because he was that much better. He’d have more competition now because he created a world of competition.
Golf is the only sport going right now where current players are better than their predecessors. Thank you tiger
This troll isn't as fun as some of GK's other ones because golf is an individual sport and it's quite simple to compare
Imagine if Scottie Scheffler was the best putter in the world right now. That’s the Tiger comparison.
Didn't Tiger win a Masters against all these dudes he apparently couldn't have beaten in his prime in his mid 40s after a bunch of surgeries?
The more interesting discussion about Tiger is what he would have done if he cheated on his wife like a normal celebrity and didn't hurt himself trying to cosplay as a navy seal
Smoke driver is shipping today. Should have it in time for our club championship. That way when I don’t win I can blame it on having a new club I’m not used to yet.
My golf course has been closed for the last year for renovation. Opening weekend is next weekend. So goddamn pumped.
If you want to drink and watch a bunch of other drunk people the bear trap. I always enjoyed posting up on 10 green, if you go by 9 tee you can see 9, 1, 4, 11, and very easily walk to 2,3,8 as well. There’s also a loop by 15 green where you can see 15, 12, 16, 13 and 14
understand if people aren't interested in Foreplay content but the video they just put out of Riggs playing someone who was trolling him in his IG comments was a great concept that I can see golf YouTube stealing across the board
yeah it was pretty good but wonder how much it’ll get picked up? Riggs is an easy target but he stands out as one where it’s almost universal “there’s no way he’s a 3 hdcp” on almost every video he does the challengers have to be good personalities. This guy was ok but thought he was on the border of being too boring. But super troll shit talker probably isn’t any better, for me at least. how many can Riggs lose before he cancels the series? but yeah I thought it was a good content idea for them
Anyone ever frame a pin flag? I have a Masters one signed by Crenshaw that I've had put away for a while and want to hang it in my basement but not sure the best way to frame it.
any time I want to frame something I want to look nice I just take it to Michael's and have it done. costs a little more than doing yourself but it works out perfect.
The hater may have been even more cringey than Riggs. Couldn’t watch that shit. Just an embodiment of a single white trash dad who posts in the internet comments.
I've still got a flag from 2021 PGA at Kiawah I never framed. I may just end up doing hobby lobby/Michaels, most of the ones online always looked so cheap to me. This Etsy frame actually doesn't look bad for >$100 - Flag Display Frame. Frame Size: 45.5x60cm. Perfect for Golf Flags and Other Flag Memorabilia the Open Golf Championship the Masters - Etsy
it’s probably better if Riggs loses. Can’t imagine anyone rooting for him. His swing, chipping and putting are also very displeasing to watch.
Yea that’s not bad. I’ll likely get my Masters flag done at Michael’s. I also have one from when I went to the Open at St Andrews, PGA Baltusrol, and US Open Pinehurst that I want to put up as well
I watched nearly all of this. Enjoyed it. Riggs claims he has a 3.9 HCP? Holy fuck. There’s no way. Absolutely no way.
I scrolled quickly through the last few holes and it felt like a three putt either won or halved every hole
I didn't think I could root for Riggs either, until that absolute chode walked out to play him, complete with those fucking Masters Croakies. He looks like the type to bitch at the country club manager for his filet not being medium rare enough right before he douses it in off-brand A1.
lol Last pod when he mentioned how he has a fix for Scottie Scheffler putting was so cringe. He mentioned it at first and I figured he was joking and then later on in the pod he talked about what the drill actually was and how he would fix him.
Demo day at the club today and visited the Callaway tent. About to be a proud new owner of the AI Smoke irons. They feel amazing and are about 5-7 yards longer than my Mavriks with shitty range balls
Best case for tournaments like this is a rookie getting set up for the start of their career as opposed to a journeyman milking a couple extra years of starts out of a good week against a crap field.
this has to be the worst strokes gained tee to green round ever to win, his irons have been god awful too
