It most certainly doesn’t happen if he was facing the prospects of playing games exclusively on AppleTV (my god I can’t believe people were pitching that as a viable route to the Pac 12).
Tuimoloau is back. Ohio State is just waiting on TreyVeon Henderson now. On defense, 8 starters return, all four DL and 4/5 of the secondary. Lose both LBs.
OSU defense will be legit next year. Lots of weapons on O. If you guys figure it out on O you might be looking at a playoff team who gets a bye
Title favorites in my mind. Day just needs to get out his own way and suffocate teams with that defense and Judkins and co.
Cody Simon is back and was very good against run-oriented teams where we played a heavier set. He also played when Eichenberg was hurt. I hope we move starting safety Sonny Styles to LB, then go with a three CB set on our 4-2-5 defense. We went three CBs over the last 1/4 of the season after Ransom got hurt. All three are back. That would put Ransom back at S, then likely Malik Hartford at the other S, who played well as a true freshman. We also will continue to dream about tampering with Caleb Downs at S.
This is the weakness. Feel great about RB. Feel great about WR:TE despite the youth. Feel good about QB. Need to see Howard run the offense to feel great. Our OL was bad. We return 4/5 of a bad OL, with a center who transferred from Alabama after his performance in the playoff caused Bama to excommunicate him.
Will Howard will tear his ACL sometime during the MAC portion of our schedule and we’ll be relegated to #33’s weak ankles and Lincoln “30 step drop” Kienholz
I will only accept age-related excuses and sand bagging from herb.burdette in the Ohio State fan base, thank you very much.
We also need a LB coach, and haven’t had one since 2021. Instead of hiring a LB coach, we paid Parker Fleming $500,000 a year to coach special teams. Hopefully, that solves that Jabril Peppers-JT Barrett problem he had there.
The weird thing about special teams is that even if they're good, they can go to shit really quickly just from vibes. Or that's what I heard at least
There are a lot of names out there, but the general idea is we would like to hire a LB coach who will transition to DL as Johnson retires after 2024.
Any chance OSU hires JT Barrett to replace nepotism at QB coach? I know when the Lions hired him as a low level assistant he was considered someone who could make a jump pretty quickly up the ranks.
Have a day, Ohio State bros. Gonna try to get tickets/room for the game in Eugene bc that's shaping up to be legit
