Between you and me. Also, is he really that good of a coach? Clearly, he isn't a difference marker on game days
So Michigan had to lose to prove his worth? I'd counter that the fact that he's leading a program that can win a top 5 match up without him on gameday shows how good of a coach he is. Being a good coach means developing players, hiring a good staff, and having your team prepared. Conversely (not pointed at you) it doesn't include telling the world you're tough while yelling at an 84 year old, punting on 4th and an inch from midfield, and milking a 2:00 clock only to miss a long field goal whole you've got 2 of the best WRs in college.
Wasn't just talking about yesterday's game. He's been awol for 1/2 the year and it hasn't had an impact. Therefore, he isn't worth 9mm as he isn't a game day difference maker. Yes, I understand what you are saying
He has coached all week for all 12 weeks and has been involved in all gameplanning. He has only been awol for the 3.5 hours on Saturdays.
If you’re trying to use college football as a lesson for cheaters never win, then I think you’ve already lost.
Thinking back to all the times these threads got bumped after every L and all the hours I wasted arguing dumb shit brings a tear to my eye knowing that it can't hurt me anymore.
this thread is a perfect indictment on capitalism. He is only worth what the market says he is but also why is winning a game worth anything?
Michigan was on the verge of turning into Nebraska (no offense, Husks) and he saved the program immediately and turned it from a dumpster fire to a top 10-ish program in like 10 months. That anyone ever asked the question was hilarious. They could have paid him $20M a year those first 3-4 years and it still would have been worth it.
I think you might be misunderstanding my point. Yes he is worth what you are paying him. But no one is worth that much for a game.
There was another thread. This one: https://www.the-mainboard.com/index...st-overrated-coach-in-all-of-football.170663/ GoodForAnother pls unarchive so we can dunk on dump
we've watched Justin Herbert get neutered by Willie Taggart, Mario Cristobal, Anthony Lynn, and Brandon Staley/Joe Lombardi. WE DESERVE THIS!
Not too often you get a vacant NFL job with as talented a QB as Herbert. That team has a ton of other issues, but all of that is easily fixable when you have QB solved already
