Yea. You are paying $600 an hour to be able to tell everyone else to fuck off. You go through the exit and get right on every ride. Never done it but have always wanted to. Doing 3 parks will be no problem.
Well that’s good then I guess because I’ve been in the LL line with the tour guide group people behind me but maybe it’s different levels. I know they get them in the park through the park through the back areas but I’ve never seen them just walk to the front of the lines the last few times I’ve been.
The plaid shirt is the differentiator. There’s guides who will take you lightning lane, but the plaid shirt let’s you tell everyone else to get out of the way
Notes to self: 1). Wear a plaid shirt during next Disney trip. 2). Tell everyone to get the fuck out of my way.
I understand this is a bit private, but would you share roughly how much this is running y'all? Is it based in per hour or per person or combo of both?
It’s a per hour fee, but not per person. The rate is flat for up to ten people. As for the cost itself, I’m not sure as the in-laws are paying it. I’ve read it’s $600-$900 per hour depending on the time of year. It’s crazy expensive, and doesn’t even include the cost of the ticket or any meals. I do think you get snacks though.
Just came back from a family trip with my parents, my gf, my sister, BIL, and their 2 kids (ages 6 and 8). Stayed at the Dolphin. Convenient location and transportation for the most part, but rooms definitely need updating. Lobby bartender said they're going to start doing that next year. We go to the parks a lot here in So Cal so we kinda knew ahead of time what we didn't need to do if the parks were that busy, and my niece/nephew are moving into enjoying the more intense rides. Not gonna touch on everything we rode/did - Black Friday was Magic Kingdom and we all knew this was going to be hell day, so we picked the park that has the most of the same rides as ours. Tron was down for close to 3 hours during our queue time which allowed us to ride Tron at night. Extremely fun ride, multiple launch at the start was great. The wait time on Fantasyland rides and meeting the Princesses absolutely blew my mind. Outside of Tron, Tomorrowland still feels like 1980s Tomorrowland, needs an update Kids loved the Monsters Inc comedy show thing Castle destroys Anaheim's obviously and it's a much more spacious park w/o as many bottlenecks as DL - Saturday was Animal Kingdom. Flight of Passage was fantastic and we were just gonna do standby because it was like 50 min and Genie was not until later in the afternoon. LL cast member saw my Dad having to use a scooter because of his hip and my niece in a Cinderella dress, and let us use the LL. Gave her a compliment on the app for that. Everest is a very fun ride Dinosaur area...yeah I see why there's talk of using that whole area for Indiana Jones and Encanto. I believe the Dinosaur ride is the exact same track Indiana Jones at Disneyland Yak & Yeti was excellent - Sunday was Epcot What a goddam massive park land wise Deliberately didn't read/watch anything describing Cosmic Rewind and oh boy did that not disappoint, phenomenal ride Ratatouille was fun. That type of ride technology is just awesome Mission Space was far more intense than I thought going in (won't be shocked if this becomes a Marvel themed ride eventually) Excellent choice of booze Ate at Teppan Edo. Enjoyed it and was surprised a teppan restaurant didn't have fried rice but the noodles in the rice's place were great - Monday we park hopped Universal (spent more time at Islands though) Velocicoaster is probably my favorite coaster I've been on, what a beast of ride Hagrid's is sensational Spider-man is still great (last went on in '05) Hulk was down unfortunately Hogwart's Express is such a cool way to park hop Bourne stunt show was a lot of fun Rip Ride Rockit was cool - Tuesday was Hollywood Studios Hadn't been on Tower since it was at DCA. It's still fun but Guardians version at DCA is superior Toy Story Land is well done but very packed. Thankfully got on Slinky Dog with just a 45 minute wait Rise is incredible and we all know that Aerosmith coaster was fun but that ride needs a retheming Ate at the Brown Derby for dinner, enjoyed the filet - Wednesday was a Disney Springs day, ate at Homecoming for lunch and that did not disappoint Excited to see what Epcot will all look like by the end of the decade. That's supposed to be the Orlando park that'll be getting the biggest investment. Probably go back with my gf in a few years when Epic Universe is open and whatever else attractions they build at DW. Comcast stepping up their investment in the Universal parks is forcing Disney to do the same and it's making for sensational rides. Was reading this on the Donkey Kong coaster that'll be at Epic Universe: "The coaster will run over a false track while being attached to a hidden track underneath, allowing designers to implement gaps in the false track to create the illusion that the trains are jumping gaps"
Yeah it was a lot of G-Force but that ride is forgettable, and doesn't get many riders since it always seems to be like a 15 minute wait. Imagineers can come up with something better than that and they probably are already are working on it. Also riding Test Track made me imagine just one time I'd like to go on Radiator Springs Racers at those speeds instead of pretty much half that.
I feel like I’m squeezing a lot in to a shorter trip this time. Could end up a little hectic. Doing 4 nights, 5 days with two of those days being travel days. Still doing all 4 parks + MVMCP. No resort rest day is going to be tough. Day 1 (Travel Day): half-day at Hollywood Studios Day 2: half-day at Epcot and MVMCP at MK Day 3: full-day MK Day 4: full-day AK Day 5 (Travel Day): breakfast and travel
I forgot what the event was, like in 2017 or something it was a one night star wars event they had a parade with Darth Vader and other stuff, and rock n roller coaster turned all the lights off and did the star wars main theme
A friend of mine is a club 33 member and she has given me VIP tours over the years. Three parks is the sweet spot to maximize what you can do. Start in HS (you can do everything), quick ride to AK to do Pandora, then MK for the classics and the VIP firework section. It really shows you how the other half lives.
Also when it comes to VelociCoaster, I was like why are they metal detecting us and making sure every fucking loose article is in the locker right when we’re about to get on the ride? Usually have those lockers before getting in line for bags and hats and no metal detector in a ride line. After the ride I understood. That straight shot upside down for like 30+ yards is fucking wild.
No matter how many times I get on that ride and know that second takeoff and big drop are coming I always get a little freaked out when the weightlessness hits and you feel like you’re coming out of the seat lol
Wonder if we crossed paths at all. We were there Thursday - Monday with my SIL's family and her SIL's family, 10 of us total. We have a lot of credit card points so we stayed at the Swann Reserve. Definitely missed all the Disney theming but it was a really nice hotel, no complaints there. We did Epcot Thursday, MK Friday, AK Saturday, and Islands of Adventure Sunday. MK was very busy but the rest of the parks weren't that bad compared to our last trip.
Pretty efficient process. Did this for my son with cerebral palsy. Not much to it. They do a great job. I don't remember having an appointment though. We just got there at rope drop and waited for a bit.
Apparently the video interview people can be extremely strict, but as long as you aren't trying to take advantage of the system, you should be fine.
We could never get in via the video conference. This was also in 2021 during Covid so more demand for the video services I am guessing.
Yeah I don’t know if she will get it but people have told us to try. She’s 72. I’m getting her a scooter but she gets debilitating migraines pretty easily so trying to be able to have her ride some riders with her grandson before the exhaustion sets in and she needs to go back to the hotel. We are going to be in the parks for 3 days but I don’t know if she will even make half-a-day.
She’s honestly borderline. I’d add something like heavy crowds set off her migraines and being able to wait in the calm of an open area will help her extend her day.
Tron is very underwhelming. Way too short and they took shortcuts that are lame. Cosmic Rewind is awesome though. And I'm cheesy and love Living with the Land but it's really amazing right now with the lights throughout it.
Tron is great but I think its biggest drawback is the buildup. Guardians, Avatar, and rides like ROTR excel in the buildup before the actual ride. Tron could have been really cool in acting like you were being sent into the digital world. But it’s just a fairly standard line with one really neat moment.
The shortness of Tron definitely struck me. The awesome theme music in the “digitizing” room definitely got me going. But it fell a little flat after that. The initial 65 mph jump and outside portion is sick, but the whole dark inside coaster part just paled in comparison to Cosmic Rewind for me.
One thing with Orlando compared to Anaheim, I feel Orlando can integrate a lot more Pixar and Marvel. I know they can’t use Spider-man, Hulk, X-Men, or F4 in Orlando because of the preexisting Universal agreement, but goodness there’s still plenty of Marvel IP to use in Disney World. Cars Land is a fucking cash cow and also awesome, gotta bring that to Orlando. Hell, Disney could create an entire Pixar and Disney Animation amusement park that children and adults both would love. It’s amazing the simple touches they made for the Incredicoaster to be so much better than California Screaming despite zero changes to the coaster track.
Yaaa not sure about that one chief. Only thing they tried was a dr strange meet and greet and that lasted like 3 days. Guardians has some special/weird carve out but I’m pretty sure if they could use more, they would. They aren’t shy about only using IP for the last 20 years so you’re killing me with this “use more IP!” stance
I’m talking about lands and rides, not some weird meet and greets. Everyone I’ve asked in Anaheim say the Avengers ride is going to blow the roof off the entire amusement industry.
Right and my point is they’ve tried with characters non-guardians and they didn’t last for a reason (legally)
we're going on a hastily planned mid February trip and I've been surprised how easy dining reservations have been.
ours is also hastily done. We got flight vouchers for Christmas so thought we’d just down for a long weekend
I must have just squeezed in before the crowds (12/2-6) because it wasn’t bad at all for us. The most chaotic time we had was MVMCP but besides that all the parks were fairly quiet.
We have the kids magic kingdom tickets for Christmas (although we haven’t actually bought them yet) we’re going to pull them from school and do a weekday trip to try and avoid crowds in a few weeks. Is there any data showing what day of the week is actually the least crowded? I’m assuming it’s got to be Tuesday-Thursday?
this week is the worst time to go not only do you have the holiday travelers trying to go while kids are out of school you also have what 3/4 bowl games within a couple hrs drive that have fans in town that try to make a little vaca out of it as well.
100% the best times to go are January - February after the holidays and late August - early September after school starts. Parks are dead compared to what they normally are at those times. Probably like 1/5 of the people compared to busy times.
