Unless we know what was said I don't believe a human, who has time and time again proven to be an abject piece of shit like DeAngelo, deserves the benefit of the doubt for even a 10 min misconduct, which I haven't even looked up but assume was for abuse of officials, then I'll side with the officials here. Imagine Janice in accounting at our local workplaces being subjected to what an NHL ref hears on a nightly basis "fuck you you cock sucking cunt, you're a fucking embarrassment to our company" "2+2 doesn't equal 3 ya fuckin idiot". How thick of skin should refs have compared to other jobs?
Well considering known shit bag Tim peel was a ref who exists to defend every bad call ever made, they should have pretty thick skin since they act like the police union. Doesn’t matter how egregious, protect the shield.
I have a lot less of a problem w this than the guys that rush up, slow to a stop in the crease and likely illegally move the puck backwards.
Agreed. This is the sports league that unfortunately still needs GMs to be able to walk over and discuss things in person because they’re incapable of getting anything done over the phone.
Talking head- Bill Zito has walked over to the Red Wings table. Let's see if something is brewing. 2 minutes later. Seems like Bill Zito just wanted stretch his legs and say hello to a friend at the Detroit table. No trade brewing according to sources. These tweets need to stay forever.
The fact that so many trades that are completely non-Draft related happen at the Draft just shows how ass backward the whole league still is. And then we’re sitting on pins and needles when someone gets up to take a shit simply because it means something *might* happen.
remember, most of these gms have a middle school educaiton, so typing big words into their blackberry is hard. Much easier to walk over and talk to someone. Speaking of which, quick Dale Tallon Story I was recently told. He refused to use websites like capfriendly or the like to see the contract status of players around the league. Not because he was concerned the info was innacurate, but because the website was too hard for him to use. Instead he had a staffer who's only job was to make an excel spreadsheet that was constantly updated with every team's current roster and salary situation for him to look at and evaluate when making trades.
it's 10x easier than a custom made excel sheet. and has way more features. But that was what he knew compared to what is new. I'd compare it to people who continued to use a typewriter even though microsoft word existed.
Saturday is going to be a fun litmus test. Ottawa is solid but they shouldn’t be punking us like last season.
He’s had some really bad defensive gaffes in the two games I’ve watched of the Sens. Offensively he looks like a future 50-60 point guy though.
If he gets consistent PP1 minutes he could be in the 50 point club. Really don’t know what defensive miscues you are talking about but in the 4 games he has been very solid in his own zone. Edit: not saying he’s there yet by any stretch but the Sens hit a home run talking him.
Guy has a negative Corsi for % and a negative xGF% playing against what has been a soft schedule so far. All of the above is wrong. he's been great analytically so far. The sample is small for this season obviously, but I still don't see a reason to crown the guy just yet. Especially coming off a game where the Sens were getting dominated chance wise but were converting on every chance they got. You see a handful of those types of games in a season.
Well sure. He's a guy who coming off a good rookie season was given #1 D-man money. Any pushback on that deal was immediately met with "you are a troll/hater" from the Sens fans here. Now we are 3 games into the season and victory laps are already being taken
What site are you using for stats? Natstattrick has him at 56.5% xgf and the highest of any DMan on their team by quite a bit. https://www.naturalstattrick.com/pl...ne&fd=&td=&tgp=410&lines=single&draftteam=ALL
I went off moneypuck. And now I see my mistake. Forgot that moneypuck defaults to all situations and does not default to 5 on 5. Yup, his analytics are fantastic so far.
Hockey twitter heard we were discussing the Sens in here, apparently. The zone entries and retrievals are probably the most impressive parts of the clips to me. They're two huge indicators of almost every high level defensemen in the league. And on the other hand... Ottawa as a team is more than doubling up their expected goals through 4 games. The level of finishing is going to drop eventually. (And that includes Sanderson, who has 2 goals and 5 points in 4 games)
A gently used Tory Krug would help. Just saying. Cant put a price on motivation from playing for the home team
Nobody called you a hater or a troll. We Sens fans know what we have in Sanderson and had zero issues with his new deal. Some fans are just always behind the curve on these things and we merely pointed that out.
He’s available if you’d like him. Guess that means Zub is out for a bit and they need to call up JBD.
