Right. If I'm paying for my own health care, liability insurance, mileage, don't get guaranteed hours, and don't get any paid vacay or sick leave, you're going to be paying the fuck up.
“As part of the raid in Hesse, police confiscated a crossbow, a BB gun and various documents among other items, they added.” fellas - who’s up for trying to overthrow the govt with our BB guns and crossbows?
There's a lady on my YouTube feed that was American and moved to Germany in her late 20's. She does videos comparing life in both. It sounds so much better there.
Take it from someone who’s been, I’d rather live there. I’d love tomorrow without hesitation if it wasn’t for the things keeping me in Florida (family). Only downside is the lack of air conditioning
I would have plenty of time to pickup another remote job even working from my employer's office, but I prefer to use that time to shitpost on TMB.
with how seemingly every few years something happening to shake up markets, fuck that contractor shit. It's a shit thing to do to people especially if you're a company espousing the "we're a family" bullshit. companies are going to be always competing for talent and never having enough workers as more boomers retire, and there wouldn't even be a chance for people to pull multiple jobs without that labor shortage even if it's supposedly a "tough labor market"
Don’t have a lot of time for anything else. But only sleep about 5 hours a night on average. For example today, I work up at 3. Got to first job at 4, work until 2. Use my lunch to do one hour for the internship I work which is about one hour of work a day. Drive to second in person job and work 3:30-8:15 drive home and work the other job from 9-11 tonight.
I don’t ever get 56 hours of sleep a week. Sleep about 4-5 hours a night 5 nights a week and about 7 the other night. So around 40 hours a week total
There is a need for contractors and it's okay if it's set as pure contracts and not bullshit contract-to perm. The later is horseshit and usually allows companies to underpay you for 3-6mo until they want to hire you. We employ some contractors on projects we don't have long term visibility or some right now due to uncertainty rolling into the new year after a lot of people are trying to burn budget allocations. But we pay them more hourly than we do our long term employees for all the extra stuff they have to pay for.
Probably working closer to 90 total with the work I do while I’m on lunch at the other jobs. I work 4-2 five days a week and then about 32 hours at the other job. The remote jobs I try and do most of the work when I am at the other jobs but have about 10 hours I need to do when I’m at home
A poll showing Kari Lake getting half of Sinemas share in the head to head is amazing. They go from "I want the corporate dino" to "bring on fascism".
People hiring everyone as contracts instead of investing in their employees is why the labor market is so fucked up to begin with. Maybe people wouldn’t be trying to game the system if they felt they were treated fairly and respected by their employer.
I probably "work" around 25 hours/week on average. I've worked one Friday for the past 4 weeks. If I was more ambitious I could definitely pick up another job. But shitposting from Canada and Mexico is a job in its own right. GFA and Mix are offering me a hefty sum to post more regularly, but they're not close to my number yet.
they have been in negotiations with my team for months but haven't been able to hammer a deal through.
Yes, it happens. It’s happened to me more than once. But it is a high premium. The contract rate is a lot higher than the perm salary (which is why I never converted). Also, you get unemployment when that happens. In my experience, you get dead weight in new people far more often than a contractor gets fucked over through no fault of their own.
I also get full benefits through my contract house. Make it a deal breaker and they always come through unless they are a shit house.
I know a bunch of people that preferred to stay as contractors. They get more pay and if you don’t need the benefits then they didn’t care. They’d been on contract for years.
I’m close to switching. They implemented unlimited vacation beginning of the year and they are actually letting people take off whenever they want as long as their projects are on track. I was skeptical when they announced it, but they really are letting people take it. I’ll take a 20k pay cut, but that’s fine.
This guy lol. It’s not just his rug or hair transplant, it’s that it’s dark as fuck. Some self reflection in that 3 week work week, perhaps.
The GOP is the Cleveland Tire Fire right now media: Palestinian woman won’t stop being Palestinian… We legit need a purge day for the media.
There are a lot of sensitivities so I won’t claim to have the most well thought out opinion on this. It’s the Palestinian flag, not Hamas. Did members notably remove American flags every time there as a report of civilian casualties across Iraq and Afghanistan?
