They were a bigger concern for me coming into the season than Mertz. Maybe they gel as the season goes on but the position is inexperienced and not deep.

 

They have an army of a staff but no ST coordinator?

 

As I understand it, the coach of the University of Florida is relatively new to the position. So I’m expected the Team to build from this point and improve in the future.

I have no idea if Napier will work long-term but if you look at who LSU was realistically targeting, they exclusively looked at high profile coordinators and current head coaches of major programs(Franklin, Tucker, Aranda).

Don't gas yourself up by getting in bed with Banks, who more than any non-SEC fan I can think of, constantly feels he has the scoop on UF football and so incredibly off-base, it's hilarious.

 

I don’t peruse the UF board or threads at all but him saying Napier is not the one does t seem like much of a stretch.

I'm not arguing if he's right now. I'm arguing the sentiment that LSU "knew" 2 years ago and that's why they never targeted him.

(A lot of LSU fans were disgruntled by Napier not being hired - or at least considered - before they announced Killy fwiw)

Nah I get it. Seeing FSU at the end of Jimbo and all of Taggart days. I know the feeling all too well. Everyone overreacts the first week. The teams are usually never as good as they appear nor bad as they appear in week one.

 

Example: Wow! FSU took #9 ND to OT in the season opener. Team looks much improved this year.

This thread gives me Clay Helton PTSD. That Florida team was garbage in every facet and the denial by fans was something I was guilty of too. Unbelievably undisciplined, poor play calling showing lack of football acumen, blaming talent on previous coach (we blamed sanctions). Get out now! It won’t get better.
