I work right there and leave at 3 to avoid the mess of that bridge during rush hour. Would be yelling impotently in my car if this happened.
ncrebel How ya like it? Married w/ kids? That's my holdout to moving there. I love downtown but its going to be ring --> wedding --> little ones probably in about 2-3 years.
its a good neighborhood! mid 30s, girl, no kids. but it's got a nice combo of kid stuff and adult stuff. we didn't plan on going this far southeast, but it's really not bad at all. nice gym, community center, cool people, we are enjoying it (moved in october for reference).
Will be in town next week for a bachelor party. I'm getting in Wednesday evening and staying at the Canopy by Hilton on West 6th. Want to have a night on the town without being responsible for 22 people (most folks arriving Thursday evening). Only things on the docket are bats Thursday evening (groom dead set on doing it for some reason), Brunch Friday, float trip Saturday. Other than that will be a combination of hanging out at our airbnb (just southeast of Town Lake off I-35, has a nice pool looking towards downtown) and going to different bars (will be doing everything in my power to make sure we don't go to dirty 6th) A few questions 1. Anyone done Butler Pitch and Putt? Thinking I'll get a chill 9 in before hitting up Terry Blacks BBQ 2. Brunch Friday - any particular spot stand out? We'll be going right from that to bar hopping Spoiler: 3. groom wants to shroom but doesn't want to fly with his own stuff, how difficult will that be to obtain while we're out and about?
#2 Bangers on rainey is still the go to for fellas, i find. Girls really like Aba (gotta reserve well in advance) Bars: Rainey, east 6th (anything east of I-35)
Anyone know of good places in the city to show up solo for cooking classes? Was thinking of cozy meal but everything seems to be for two people or more
Sick. Thinking of doing either a French cooking class to learn better technique or Indian to learn about spices either go well with the byob thing they do
central market used to do them most weekdays. went to a few with wife back in the day but there was always a few solo people
Faradays kitchen store in bee caves does em I haven't taken one, but the people at that store are awesome, so I only assume the cooking classes are too https://faradayskitchenstore.com/pages/cooking-classes-in-austin
believe sur la table in the domain does them, but I think they were more oriented towards couples/groups
Our crew loves a random morning Butler P&P. Nice chill way to start a day and it's in decent shape for what it is. Wish you'da said something about #3 a couple weeks ago I just need a little more heads up
do you guys ever go to the walkaround at the yard (st elmo, still, etc). they do a different flavor every season and it's citrus this weekend. every place does a different cocktail/beer
Lol the guy responsible for the bomb at St Davids main was there because he was making bombs at home, injured himself and drove to St. Davids with bombs in his truck. What a moran.
maybe its uncouth in this thread but are any of y'all in san antonio or familiar with the city for apartment recs? likely going to be moving there for work early next year and have only ever been there for work conferences.
I doubt there’s a way for me to talk anyone I know into doing a late night show with 3 days of festival attendance. I do love the schedule and only having to choose A&B over Revivalists with everything else being a personal taste no brainer. Setup kinda perfect to be there from 3-9 everyday. Sunday will have a blanket setup for Tash that doesn’t move until Odesza starts.
The real only late night show necessary is 10/14 Le Youth at concourse. I’ll be out of town unfortunately.
I’ve seen all the headliners so many times that I’m thinking of leaving after the preheadliners. Gives me time to head back and get cleaned up and ready to go to a late night show. Who knows though. Some years they seem to have great late night shows and some haven’t interested me.
Was all gung ho to do my first weekend 1 ever, turnes out i have a wedding to attend that weekend Weekend 2 it is.... again
Weird question. Are you all only getting warm-hot water from your faucets? I'm wondering if this a me problem or if Austin's water supply is just hot from the crazy heat.
in cedar park, but noticed this recently as well. usually after running a little it feels normal, but definitely warm at first.
Could possibly do A&B on 10/6 since we're not seeing anything saturday until ~3pm. Have a feeling ACL weekend is gonna be the first and last time I see them in person
