That’s the thing that makes this whole situation feel beyond hopeless. Even if the absurdly impossible happened and there was a full ban and confiscation of assault rifles, that wouldn’t even make a dent in the amount that would remain out there in our country. Ever since the assault rifle ban was lifted, the bloody and bullet-filled toothpaste has been smashed out of the tube, and there’s no putting it back.
Its so smart. Drill students for years how to handle a school shooting. Then give the likely school shooters, with full knowledge of the safety protocols years to plan getting around them, guns.
