Isn’t that the plan? I’m not following it super close but I know I’ve seen sun rail mentioned which would lead to the Tampa connection.
It died last election. They will try again in 2 years but we're probably looking at like 2030 before its operating.
:( how you invest in one rail system and then another rail system and then don’t connect them is so mind blowing. Atlanta similarly fucked up but just in different ways.
Having faith but will be totally not surprised when it is a disaster. Wonder if they will run a limited schedule or actually adjust to demand? Sunrail not running on the weekend is a total disappointment.
I don’t get the hype around jolibee. I had it in south Florida and it’s fine but don’t get why it was so hyped to arrive here
will Brightline be running on weekends when it connects to Orlando? would be cool if it becomes an alternative for South Florida based fans during football season that don’t feel like driving
So someone thought to have a place like 4Rivers but instead of bbq it’s rotisserie chicken and I gotta say it’s great. Just opened on 192 in Disney area but I’m a fan.
It makes more sense when you work close. But I just gotta say the idea is great. It’s like Kenny rogers roasters grew up
If I read hot sauce bottles for restaurant names I still would be driving around looking for the nearest Da Bomb Beyond Insanity.
I got asked by a former coworker coming to town for a convention what’s some good places to take clients for dinner in Orlando? Sounds like he’s looking near downtown/Ivanhoe area because he mentioned Reyes Mezcaleria. Also said not super expensive but unique. Any suggestions before I tell him Lazy Moon and 4R since my time in Orlando was as a poor college kid?
Russells on Ivanhoe is right there and not too bad, same w Pinery (also right there). Santiagos Bodega for tapas is like 5min away - good happy hour. Ta-Ke Sushi is nearby and solid- the hostess is the nicest woman on the planet. The greek place (greek corner) is pretty solid and if the weather is nice has a good corner lot for al-fresco and people watching on a weekend or thurs night -
The Strand. It's very affordable for the level of food and service. Hard to get in so tell him to book ASAP.
Ta-Ke Sushi and Grill, which is located at 1421 N Orange Avenue in Orlando, was forced to temporarily close its doors on Wednesday, April 5, after failing a health inspection conducted by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. According to a report, during the inspection, at least 14 health code violations were cited, including three considered high priority. Among the violations was the presence of roach activity, as evidenced by around 10 roaches that were found throughout the kitchen area. Additionally, raw salmon was being stored over avocados in a reach-in cooler.
Greek corner is great but not a client dinner spot. Russell's is horrible all around. Pinery is just such an odd place I can't figure out what they are trying to do. Monroe or Reyes are great options too
Surprised to hear Fazoli's is still alive and kickin'. A young Wee Bey had his mind blown when he first found out about Italian fast food. We'd carb up at the one on 192 in Kissimmee (classy) before hitting up Skate Reflections.
People who want their Dollars going to things that actually help people care. Fuck ever having another sports franchise here
Eh that part isn’t really true of the other sports teams. I give credit for Orlando sports fans generally it’s just that there’s precious little success. Even at MLS and ECHL and NWSL levels where you could use local support to at least not be putrid…all of the teams suck except UCF recent history related note I’m pretty sure there are super bowl winning franchises who didn’t celebrate their championship as much as Orlando City tries to celebrate the us open cup
where can i get the best, tastiest burgers in town? food trucks and pop-ups welcome into the mix also.
This is a good topic. Some of my favs Taproom at Dubsdread Rusteak/Teak Super Rico The Monroe Ones I hear good things but haven't had Whiskey The Strand Luke's I know I'm missing tons of good ones
The Monroe is so fucking good, same for super Rico. Never had rusteak tho and have only eaten one time at dubsdread
All of Good Salt restaurants (Monroe, Seito, Osprey, Reyes) are stellar. Monroe is around the corner from my office, love it so much.
Need to go to the Monroe, I was stoked because Josh Oakley was running that kitchen but he moved to NC and never thought to try it again
