"Dad wanted to keep ATN" "Uhh yeah but he also wanted to poison Brezhnev and hang Mandela" that was dark even for this show
Roman was driving me crazy with how much he kept saying Dad. I understand why but needed him to pull himself together (he didn’t of course)
Two faves from the episode: When matssen made the offer then they don’t know what to do, when Roman gets up it looks like he’s holding a teddy bear. Then. After shiv started talking to Matssen post Kendall and Roman bumbling their negotiation they cut to the club scene. I had subtitles on and the song lyrics were something like “you don’t know what you’re doing, step aside and you’ll be alright”.
Yea they played very coy in the scene to start. Did she take that sip at all, and if so was it at an important moment? I’m sure it signified something I just wasn’t paying close enough attention to put it together.
Sooooo they may have shot a scene where Jerri was in the sauna with the guys.......nekid. The way they’re both spared from the kill list at the end, you wonder if somehow they schemed together to be saved. Probably. Did they keep the sauna stuff with Gerri in there? Oh, I don’t remember. I remember the men being in the sauna. I don’t remember seeing Gerri in the sauna. It was written in because J. was like, “How do I prove my mettle? What if I’m in the sauna and I just drop my towel. Just be like, here are my tits. I don’t care. I’m one of the guys.” And Jesse was like, “Oh, I don’t know.” So I don’t know if they kept that or not. They filmed it though? They did. I don’t know if she ended up showing her boobs or not, but they did film it. https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2023/04/dagmara-dominczyk-succession-season-4
Have to say, Matsson is a pretty great "villain", even in a show full of them. Great casting/acting. Pretty captivating character every time he is on the screen.
For you or anyone that hasn’t seen it I highly recommend Generation Kill. He’s great in that as well. It’s a 7 episode war comedy miniseries on HBO about how dumb all of the officers in the military are
Not sure if it's supposed to be a comedy. There are comedic moments but the story is mostly true from what I've read.
I don't even see him as a villain. He's the foil to the "quad squad" but he's not really any worse than them. I did find it hilarious that he's been sexually harassing his PR girl for years and then put all the men except Tom on the Kill List.
I think the part when Tom went over to speak to Matsson and he looked over and saw Greg whispering to Shiv is going to be really important in the future
I thought that was part of Tom and Greg’s “plan”. Have Greg talk with the children while Tom tried to get close to Matsson and his team
Excellent episode and top-notch acting. Shiv’s character is fascinating right now. Karl and Frank putting on compression socks was hilarious, and the Hannah Barbara school of fucking business was classic Succession. Good for Roman.
I can’t imagine a scenario where this video hasn’t been posted in here but I can’t get “lets leapfrog tech” or “ive got coupons, digital codes” out of my mind
I just realized the David Rasche, who plays Karl, also played a character named Carl in a West Wing episode. That Carl was also a customer of sex workers, a call girl in this case. S01E7 The State Dinner
