Felt pretty special when I could ID the sauce as the girl was still walking up to the table and you could only see the back of the bottle.
He also had Arthur Bryant’s as his computer background And has worn a shirt referencing it, Joe’s and 2 other places I can’t remember off the top of my head
Arthur Bryant’s Original. Old man Bryant and his brother worked for ‘The Father of BBQ’ Henry Perry at the worlds first bbq restaurant. After Perry died they bought the restaurant and Arthur decided the sauce was too spicy for a lot of people (Perry’s version was basically just pepper and vinegar) so he added tomato paste to it and boom modern BBQ sauce was invented. And even though the waitress said it was the best and Ted agreed my bet is the majority of people would dislike it.
Not sure what the significance was, but I appreciated the Pulp Fiction homage when Ted was walking through the restaurant. Anyone pick up on that?
a call back to the care package his son sent him. When she handed him the bottle I was hoping he wasn't going to dip his finger into the bottle and taste it like the first time.
I think it's equally as likely that they were real and Beard told Ted they weren't so he'd think he worked out everything the night before under his own power.
Fun episode. I totally thought at first that Ted was receiving a calling to return to the US to coach basketball instead. They set Trent up all series be a fair and thoughtful guy (even though early in his career he wasn’t as they have shown). So always thought there was something else to his angle with Colin and not as a journalist looking for a story. Maybe as an advice-giver but glad it worked it’s way to what it did. If anything Colin (basically a background character) became more of a vehicle for us to learn around Trent (more of a main-supporting character). It’s not as much about Colin’s plot as Trent’s now.
With the Trent talk, I’m sure most realize, but we talked about Beard reading Wahl’s book earlier this season and Trent is basically role playing Wahl when he wrote The Beckham Experiment. The best fun fact of TBE, David Beckham had no clue everyone in the locker room hated him until the book was published. He thought him and Landon were cool and Landon just blasts him in the book. I’m not a Bruce fan but it was an incredible coaching job because he took that tension, sat the two stars down “you can continue to fight each other, or you can make history.” Beckham committed to defending and was a best 11 number 8, Landon was an MVP attacker, and then they added some golden boot winner named Robbie Keane and became one of (if not the) best team in league history.
I haven’t seen any and as the resident TMB conservative, I haven’t seen the show go woke. Yea this season has some LGBTQ storylines with Colin and keely, but they really aren’t pushing any kind of agenda that should be considered woke by anyone but the people looking for a reason to be upset.
I don’t think you’re quite as familiar with how people use “woke”. Pretending to be upset at any inclusion whatsoever is quite literally Florida anti-woke brain mush
What a warm fuzzy feel good Season 1 feeling episode. Minus Nate, fuck Nate. wonder if #4 will ever be resolved. But the team chemistry is simply delightful.
Just watched the last two back to back. Was really worried when both were an hour, but those felt the most true to original tone of the show, I really enjoyed it. Very much like how the team finally found their rhythm with total football, it felt like the show found its rhythm again. Who knows if it’ll last, but i enjoyed it
just watched this week's and buddy we are back on the rails these last two weeks. audibly laughed and got feels tonight.
That final restaurant scene was all in the feels. Roy hating that he's being turned into an "AKA" guy because of Ted was hilarious.
