watching Full Swing, am I supposed to feel sympathy for the guys making $50m who want to make $80m? Dustin Johnson comes across as such a turd
Think I’ve had my fill of Colt Knost. He’s fine at stuff like the WM, but the dude does not stop talking and half the time it’s just corny “this dude is a stud is gonna be a top 5 golfer for a long time”
Definitely understand this opinion. Poulters seemed tackier although I liked the glass floors. Am I tacky?
My quick math says DJ has the fourth most PGA tour wins of any player who joined the tour after 1975. His disappearance in majors makes that seem very forgettable.
I liked that one and the answer from Poulter to "how much is enough?" where he said "it's all relative"
I’ve never consumed any of his content but was fine with him as a supplemental voice on last years tour. He’s clearly been elevated into a key role and it’s a bit much for me as well.
Should be around 49* tomorrow morning when he starts. Gonna make it that much tougher getting through the round.
Spoiler: Full Swing chat I love that they juxtaposed Brooks and Scottie going into the masters. Some of this brooksy content is pretty heavy.
I played with him in a ProAm last year & he is just a great guy. He & Geno saw us Thursday up in a hospitality area during their round & made a point to have us come down for a quick word. You can tell those two are best friends when you’re around them which made it really fun.
Talking about an RTJ Trail trip. Logistically what’s the best place to fly in and out of? We’d be coming from Denver and Omaha. Also, best courses to play?
Birmingham or Atlanta to fly into. It is tough to get all the way to mobile or up to Muscle Shoals. The Birmingham courses are nice but nothing too special. They accidentally killed the greens at Ross Bridge and I don’t know if they are back yet. That is their “premier” course. My favorites are Montgomery and Auburn. Also check out Farmlinks. It isn’t far from Auburn and is a great course.
When my buddy and I did it 4 yrs ago we flew into ATL because it was direct for both of us as he flew from Des Moines and I flew from Omaha. We stayed in Auburn. On the RTJ trail specifically we played Grand National and Capitol Hill. We also played FarmLinks and another course on the GA/AL border that I wouldn't recommend. Of the ones we played I'd rate them... 1. FarmLinks 2. Capitol Hill 3. Grand National 4. Place on GA/AL border I can't remember name of
It’s about an hour from Huntsville where there are two full 18s and a par 3. Not the best on the trail by any means, but totally fine. You could then either go west to the Shoals where there are two full 18s or south to Birmingham. The Shoals courses are actually pretty nice but it would probably be easier for you guys to fly out of Birmingham.
Knew her when we were growing up and she's had a ton of work done. Also she's always acted like she was superior to everyone.
Rtj has a ton of good options. We had a group of 12 that did the b’ham courses in the fall. Even with Ross bridge getting shut down, we still had a ton of fun on the Oxmoor courses. They also just opened a brand new par 3 that’s similar to the cradle with shorter holes but an absolute blast. We got a house on Vrbo that was walking distance to the Oxmoor clubhouse, and if Ross bridge is opened back up, it’s essentially a two minute drive away. Easy to fly in and out of b’ham. Also a great food city if you want a nice meal during the trip.
