Tough call but that's putting Cole in a really tough spot on short rest. If he's going 2 games, maybe as well get him tomorrow and Friday off and then he goes 3 and 7 on the short rest if it gets there.
I understand that. But that means your two best pitchers are only starting one game in this series that you’re already down one in, provided it gets to seven. Just seems like a huge gamble especially how familiar Cole should be with the park and the lineup.
You'd get Cole 2x and Nestor once. Nestor was always going once with him going last night. It's a gamble that you never make it to 7 and Cole only gets one, I guess. Idk I guess I'd rather see full rest now and short later than short 2x.
I think the tweet was referring to Cabrera and/or Peraza, who are both on the roster but IKF and Donaldson played over them.
If Boone rolls out both IKF and Donaldson again tonight, I will have no choice but to believe he wants to lose this series
I’ve only spent the last two years in Texas but it’s my understanding that sitting silently with a beer is what the white people down here consider a party
The crowd was for sure bad most of the night. I saw a good amount of empty seats. People trying to overcharge for seats and then just eating them when no one pays.
when I went to the World Series there I thought it was a great environment. I thought it was fine yesterday on TV but that video just made me laugh
Probably just doesn’t want to delay the inevitable also, maybe I’m misremembering, but hasn’t the Astros lineup titted severino in the past?
Ya I’ve been to a few World Series here and the energy was really good each time. Maybe the fans are spoiled now and waiting for the next round haha.
This. I generally sit in the club level at Minute Maid. There were a bunch of unsold $500+ tickets for the game last night. People just aren’t willing to pay that premium for the sixth straight ALCS. Six years ago those tickets were all $1000+
Playoff environment rankings among stadiums I've been to playoff games at: Old Yankee Cleveland Philly Kansas City White Sox Houston Shea New Yankee Nationals Dodgers Texas Baltimore
I did, I was fortunate enough to have a job for five years that "required" me to entertain clients at big MLB games. I usually shared my travels in this thread a bit
Severino has very good career numbers vs the Astros. Doesn't mean a ton for tonight, just answering your question. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/split.fcgi?id=severlu01&year=Career&t=p
Faced you twice, both games he went 6 innings, gave up two one game and three another. Also they were back to back starts for him.
Sorry all of the playoff games the last few years are starting to blur together. I was thinking of facing him in 2017
