this ryan hall control center youtube is so helpful to follow this one of the storm chasers said that two giant cranes collapsed where one of them is
Yeah been watching Ryan Hall cause the storm chasers feeds cut out a lot. Jeff Piotrowski was filming right there and said he thought they were going to fall and booked it out.
Motherfucking storm is doing a stair-step up the coast, my folks are going to be in the eyewall the entire time. This thing needs to clear out fast.
My cousin and her husband moved from NC a few weeks ago to an apartment in Ft Myers. They chose not to leave. Water is now in the second floor of the building and they live on the third floor. They were told to stay inside an interior closet until 6:00 pm due to tornadoes.
So my in laws took a direct hit where Bonita beach forks to Lovers Key and Ft. Myers. Father in law was too prideful to leave. Cars floating away and Hickory Blvd is in about 3-4 feet of water and that’s the non surge side. This might not be a Cat 5 but goddamn it is drumming up some water
Bring it down about 6 inches below the skimmer and turn off the pump at the circuit. Do not drain it super low, or it’ll lift out of the ground. But a few spare inches might be to your benefit depending on your setup. A lot of times pools will flood and water will come in sliding doors or etc on patios. Newer homes are usually built to higher code but it’s common with older homes.
If you can get out there safely cut out screen panels on opposite sides. It might save your cage. But also fuck the cage. Stay safe
Not exactly but I did find this from a few hours ago: HURRICANE IAN’S SEVERE WEATHER FORECAST The NHC’s weather forecast predicts the Bradenton area will see the strongest storm impacts around 4 p.m., when the area is set to see sustained wind speeds of up to 46 mph and gusts up to 82 mph. Portable generator shouldn’t be bright out until post-storm right if the power is still out? Just ride out the initial power outage I assume
I use it with a portable ac and only when I just can’t take it anymore. I’ve run it in a storm before but you have to make sure it’s someplace you can safely get to if you need to refuel or restart it (outside behind a wall or something)
Absolutely. Generator needs to be outside. Running it in the garage or worse in your home could kill you.
I do not recommend draining pool if it is a gunnite/plaster pool. The water actually acts as ballast, keeping your pool structure from floating up out of the ground.
Absolutely can kill you. My friend lost her grandfather bc he accidentally remotely turned his car on through his key. The exhaust seeped through the ceiling of the garage into his bedroom above it and he died in his sleep
I need to know how many pairs of these Battle Vision Storm glasses that they’re advertising on the weather channel they’ve ever actually sold
yes that I know. I mean actually going outside to start/run it. It feels like I should leave it under cover until after it passes.
Seems slightly dumb to leave the car out in the street like that with a historical hurricane hitting but what do I know
Huh. Never thought of that before. My car starts via key but you need to press 3 buttons and hold. The car that does this also isn't in the garage but that's interesting to think about
I don't have a portable AC but I have a couple fans. I think I would mainly just use it to keep the fridges running (plus the fans and keeping devices charged)
