Oh I have it already. Plan is to hit the range in the morning after work. I bought the 2.0 board instead of the 1.0 board. It’s adjustable so I can practice with several clubs and also set up my front foot flair. But there’s also the much less expensive option of a cutting board, plywood or plastic bin lid are some of the options Ive seen.
haha this is not actually me but sounds just like me Golf is a big commitment and some of us are either all in or all out.
Had the best round in a long time today. Just in the zone and not wasting strokes. Had a work emergency pop up at the turn that messed with my head for a few holes. Also made the longest put I’ve ever made. 67 footer down hill and big breaker. Wish I had that on video.
You posted a video of your swing at a night time range session years ago. Prefaced it by saying you were focusing on career and hadn't played much of late. No doubt in my mind after seeing it that you have real talent.
Spur of the moment round this afternoon. Check in with starter and ask how the wait list looks. He says you can go out now if you want. Very rare in these parts. Make my way to the 1st tee and he announces that two more will be joining. Introductions, practice swings to warm up, first tee shots and these guys (Ben and Walter) can play. Cool. Walking off 9th green, Ben says "You're one over right? Walter is two over and I'm four over but still in the game." I reply, "We got ourselves a battle boys." There was no discussion of gambling but it was clear we were all competing. I had an idea of what their scores were as well. Drama free par on 10 and then I shit the bed. Ended up making three doubles and two bogeys on the back nine to bring it home for an 80. Walter played even golf on the back for 73, Ben finished at 78. At the end of the round Ben said "When do you want a rematch?" Exchanged numbers and I hope I get a chance to redeem myself.
Hitting a 6 iron 231 and sticking it right next to the flag, and then turning around and hitting a 7 iron 240 moments later and sticking it is just absurd.
Interesting thread about guys "due" in 2023, going to try to remember this for fantasy/betting next year.
Also one of the few locations with only 18 holes. A good bit of why it is so expensive is it is tied to the resort/spa though. Some of the other courses are better and absolutely a better value
We had a huge ice storm here in SC about 4 years ago and the super for the most private course in the area didn’t know he needed to cover the greens in advance. The were just redone and it killed them all. Was quite a colossal fuck up.
For as many things there are that annoy me with my club, I’ll never get over how spoiled I am here. Left my house right at 4p, hit a few balls on the range then went for a solo 18, home before 7p.
Cliffs: Jay flys around everywhere on a PJ provided by the tour (tour stops, Steamboat, Montana, Nantucket, St. Lucia, etc) - The tour employs 750+ people - They just built an HQ for $80+ million - Finchem is still getting paid seven figures Tha jet, whatever, that's kinda status quo of corporate America and he's leading a significant enterprise. Some of the other bloat you could say at worst merits criticism and at best is reasonable to second guess. I'll see if I can get it out of the app. Last I remember it doesn't c/p well
Jay earns every penny and perk. All CEOs too, right? This is America. The idea that the PGATour is going to transition to a labor supportive entity is hilarious.
The Wall Street journal complaining about corporate excess at the behest of the Saudi government is also definitely something.
Similar night for me. Got there at 6, 15 minutes on range, had front 9 on member course to myself. (sick birdie, par to finish in the dark)
The club is 100% a frivolous expense in our household, but there is so much shit I would cut out of our budget before even considering leaving. It's fucking awesome
jay deserves every bit of that salary for being able to sell that many ads and bring in that much money for such a shitty product. It’s like the tour gives no fuck about its tv product and presentation. It’s really quite amazing.
I'm watching LIV. Someone hit into the crowed, and the ball struck a LIV employee. The announcer chimed in, "So, it was an inside job."
At my daughters soccer today was breaking down goals from an earlier game and looked up to see everyone’s favorite headcase golfer sulking on the sideline. keegan bradley
