You’re right. It was an entire page. But I get it. Schefter deserves it. Once I read it was on the interstate I just wanted to find out how tf that could happen. But yeah it’ll come out eventually.
Had no idea they were childhood friends. It’s always fascinating to see elite athletes grow up together.
It's not about information. This should be a day of remembrance and stories about Haskins and people are making it all about schefter.
i think we can do both, critiquing what will be the most widespread news on the event for being heartless is a way to remember Haskins the human
I mean people are free to do what they want I'm just vocalizing my preference to see more stuff like the KAT tweet and the video of him as a child and less stuff about schefters weird book. I realize this makes my posts on that matter more of streisand effect so I'll drop it here.
I think part of the problem is ESPN. They employ Schefter yet never reprimand him for this terrible shit he continues to do. they suspend people all the time for tweeting/saying stuff.
"He wouldn't have been killed by a dump truck on the side of the highway if he stayed in school for another year" is an all-time take.
As a first year starter in 2018, Haskins went 373/533 70.0% 4831 50 TDS and 8 ints. It was Day’s second year as OC and we finally transitioned to a modern passing offense away from the 2011-2017 zone read that we ran under Braxton Miller and JT Barrett that Meyer had been running his whole career. Burrow had arguably the best QB season in college history in 2019, but his numbers as a first year starter at LSU in 2018 were pretty pedestrian. He obviously became a better QB, but that’s where they were at transfer.
For him to not post insensitive stuff about a guy that was just killed and, if he did, to apologize for it. Not sure why you think that’s a bridge too far.
are there blind turns in this area of the highway? im at a loss as to how such a terrible accident could have happened
No. It’s a straight highway that’s always busy. I’m not trying to speak ill of the dead, but trying to cross that highway is a baffling decision.
Where he was at is where to major highways connect he’s right in front on the exit of I595 that connects to the Northbound lane of I95. The Ft lauderdale airport runways are on the other side of the interstate so it’s not even a residential area so I don’t know why he would have been trying to cross to go over there
