Yeah, it looks like we were 5.5 point favorites for that game based off of this: https://www.oddsshark.com/ncaab/marquette-miami-odds-march-28-2013-628821
Lost in the sweet 16 three times, were the better seed in two of them, but I guess not the favorite? Maybe the guy is full of shit idk, we were almost a 1 seed in 2013
That game fucking sucked. Marquette came in and just steamrolled what was at the time probably the best team in program history like they weren't shit.
Thought about going to the game in Orlando, but my friends are sitting in a section where the cheapest ticket is like 379$. So I'm good I simply don't care enough to pay that.
sheeeeiiiit Mike, their daddy’s class was the first time I handed over $9.99/month to Gary Ferman smh
I had multiple good friends from my school (Palmetto) get their asses run over by Bobby Sr Pretty sure they made it to the state final that year
Doesn’t even feel like we even played a really good game offensively, missed so many open looks Start hitting those and we could give Kansas a run for their money
My thing is that in the first half, we generated a ton of live ball turnovers but couldn't convert any of them. Walker bobbling the ball with nobody around him comes to mind. We cleaned that up a bit in the second half.
It was really bad but Kansas was a much better squad. Maybe we have a punches chance at the end with solid officiating, but this result was likely.
The book is yet to be written on Joseph and Poplar but they were major disappointments this season relative to expectations. Throw in the fact that Beverly was out most of the year and Gak and Miller are essentially corpses, it's fairly incredible that we went as far as we did and avoided the injury bug. It's clear that Larranaga and the staff prefer to go the transfer route and really haven't 'developed' very many of their own recruits, so at some point, they're going to have to pick a plan and stick to it, i.e, getting 2-3 high level guys in the portal each year and supplementing with your own recruits. It's a model that can work and hopefully now with our first full class coming in next year, they'll be able to grab some impact upperclassman and be back in the tourney next year.
On a different note, baseball team seems to be bouncing back decently nice after some serious heat on Dimare with the UF series performance Just swept #13 UNC
Could see him pulling a Larranaga and the squad going on a run. Dan Rad being in the fold definitely has everyone on notice
Kansas did to us in the 2nd half what we did to Auburn in the 2nd half of that game, with Kansas having the added bonus of being the more talented team on top of that. Oh well, fun season.
Just came out that Williams hurt himself and had to stop during the bench press Not sure if that’s a good thing
Two of the top available transfers are visiting Miami today: Nijel Pack (Kansas State) and Norchad Omier (Arkansas State) Both are regarded as top 10 transfer prospects, and I've seen Pack as the top available transfer on The Athletic. Pack is a guard that averaged over 17 points a game at Kansas State and shot over 43% from 3 at a pretty high volume. Omier is a forward that was the Sun Belt Player of the Year and averaged 18 points and 12 rebounds. He's from Nicaragua, but I believed he played in HS in the Miami area. Too early to say how well we stand with either player, though I would think Omier would be the likelier of the two if we were to get one of them. Pack already visited Purdue, and he is from Indiana. Plus he has Gonzaga, Ohio St., Arizona, and Duke after him. Not sure who else is after Omier. I believe we are also talking with 5 star forward Malik Reneau, who is from South Florida as well. Indiana seems to be heavy on him and probably the main competition.
That was the best college baseball game I’ve watched in many many years Biggest series win in probably close to a decade
I thought he was going to decapitate one of those bat boys when I saw how hard he was tossing his bat
Baseball ranked #2 and on a 13 game winning streak is kinda crazy when you consider the deficiencies this team has Can’t figure out a Sunday Starter Middle relief is questionable at best Huge holes in the lineup at RF/DH/2B
Would have been interesting But what is also funny is that as we’ve gone on this win streak, he’s kinda fallen off a cliff. Batting average down to .220 Not that our cleanup hitter is any better
me going through the last page of this thread: interesting, didn't Miami bring in a Bobby Washington back in my day who later went on to NC State oh fuck me
