It’s almost comical how little effort the GOP is making to comply with the Ohio Supreme Court’s second decision to strike down gerrymandered maps. The two court decisions both involved state representative and senate districts. After the second decision, the GOP simply refused to submit Congressional maps. The court set a deadline for tomorrow for new state maps. The GOP refused to call the redistricting commission to meet until this afternoon, leaving no debate whatsoever on what will be proposed. Candidate filing deadlines for spring primaries already have passed. No one knows where they will run or against whom. I expect the Ohio Supreme Court may have to draw the maps. The swing vote on the 4/3 court must retire and her seat is open this election.
