That was Danielson's best match since joining the company. Outstanding story told. great show overall with a fun cruiserweight match in the middle and bananas hardcore match to close. Every week Rampage is far better than what its terrible timeslot deserves
I don't care how long the title reign is, i hope Eddie Kingston at some point wins the World Title. The long term booking of that would be absolutely fantastic and they've built it to a point where if he won it in like Madison Square the place would explode.
Full Gear is shaping up to be a potential all timer. Page/Omega Danielson/Mox Lucha Bros/FTR MJF/Darby 10 man street fight Britt/Conti Add Punk/Eddie and maybe a six man with Cole/Bucks vs Lucha Express and you have a home run.
Also, the story of Eddie not being able to win the big one is going to lead to a Foley winning the title moment that I am so here for.
just caught up on rampage and came here to say almost this exact thing. If they build Kingston down the line to win the title off of a really hated heel (like omega for example) that building is going to be absolutely electric. Give him a Tommy dreamer like run where he wins the title and loses it basically immediately, it wouldn’t matter
I don’t remember anyone ever having a kind word for Kevin Dunn. He seems to be Vince’s guy and abuses that role.
Danhausen broke a leg this weekend. Sucks for him but if anyone can withstand a setback like that it's him. He can shoot vignettes for the next two months and not miss a beat.
Love it. I wish more guys had the balls to call out two-faced assholes like Dunn. If only because it opens the eyes of those that are still there and might not realise when they're being fucked over.
From what I've seen the book is raw and real and less of an autobiography and more of a series of Moxley-style promos about his life and career. Looks like it'll be up there with the best of them (Foley's first two, Jericho's first three, and Bret's)
Yeah, on his podcasts he did seem to be positive about Dunn but at that time he was the cash cow. Dunn probably knew better than to fuck with Steve. Thinking back on this the responses from those who got asked the question make more sense. I'm guessing Dunn is largely hated. Especially if he's derailing careers with his bullshit.
Tom Lawlor announced he’s leaving MLW. He’s been really enjoyable from the stuff I’ve seen of him, so I am curious what he does next. I feel like he ends up in WWE, but he could do well anywhere.
Another reason why I hate doing NXT from one location is the same group of fans showing up every week. Because MSK made a largely innocent comment about Izzy they decided to boo them and treat them like heels since they arrived. It took national media members to finally call out the crowd and apparently WWE management to speak directly to her parents/friends and tell them to knock it off before Havoc for the audience to cheer them finally. On top of that the Uso's brother made his debut and they decided to chant USO's instead of his character name. Fuck them
Oh I hate to hear he's struggling but I'm glad he's getting help. I hope the best for him, especially as a new dad
Punk teasing a match with Orange Cassidy on twitter, replacing Mox. That feels perfect considering his confrontation with Eddie Kingston last week.
Can't see it. Either Punk has to lose or they do Bryan vs. Punk with 1.5 weeks build. Think it will be Miro.
Fantasy booking alert, but this is what I would do, if he's actually coming in. Windham gets inserted for Mox. Squashes Orange Cassidy. You have history there with him and Bryan Danielson in the finals. Danielson gets laid out while the lights are out, and some Dark Order masks are left in the ring. The weeks leading up to Hangman/Windham has him questioning if Dark Order is turning on him. Windham plants seeds, I think they could do a lot with that. But I don't think they should turn. They're a little too goofy now, the Cult of Windham needs to be dark. When he's challenging for the title, Windham's guys show up to interfere. But it's not Dark Order. It's Malachi Black, and a debuting Brody King and Vincent. I'd have Hangman retain somehow with Dark Order fending off the Cult. You've brought in the Cult and made them a priority, without taking the title off of Hangman. You could do a lot with that group. Eventually I'd like to see them convince Darby Allin to turn on Sting. Just so many possibilities. I'm setting myself up for disappointment, but I'm so hopeful Windham shows up either tonight or soon in AEW.
I hope tonight they have Punk come out for a promo to say he’s going to fight OC, only to be attacked by Eddie who injures Punk, setting up a match at Full Gear. OC says he doesn’t want to advance via a forfeit, and makes an open challenge that’s answered by either Miro or Black. OC should beat Miro, setting up a really fun Danielson/OC final at the PPV.
Yeah I think something like this might happen. I don't know if you need to rush to a Punk vs Bryan match just yet, especially with both being babyfaces, but it makes too much sense not to use Punk here considering Eddie/Mox friendship and how Eddie and Punk had their faceoff right after Eddie lost to Bryan in this tourney. Too many intersecting lines not to bring Punk into it somehow. edit: but I won't say OC would demand an opponent. It would in fact be perfectly in his character to be declared a winner by forfeit and advance without doing anything more than shrug and give a half-hearted thumbs up.
The biggest advantage of the AEW roster is EVERYONE is over. Lose Mox on short notice? It’s fine, take care of yourself. They’ve got a perfectly good backup that is currently feuding with God, the biggest babyface.
I was just thinking, the way AEW structures themselves, is there anyone that isn’t being pushed as much as they should? In WWE it usually feels like there’s about 6-8 guys absolutely not getting what they deserved but I think that’s because in WWE it a match isn’t about a title, it doesn’t matter.
I feel like Anna Jay isn’t after that match last night. Of course their whole womens division is a bit of a mess IMO.
