Good for him. He had the awful year in Baltimore/Milwaukee and had to take three straight one-year deals. Happy for him it worked out and he found somewhere he wants to be that wants him back.
This is what good teams do. They extend their better players. Now go out and sign some higher level guys this off-season and prove that you’re serious about the direction of this team moving forward. Tigers need a corner OF bat, an impact SS, and a #2/3 starter this off-season. That’s going to cost $60 million a season. Will they increase the payroll that much?
I like the thought, but I think Correa, Conforto and Scherzer are going to cost more than $60M next season, and that's what I'm trying to will into existence here.
We may be able to get Conforto at a good deal, he’s struggling this season. Doubt we go after a Scherzer/Verlander.
I don't think Scherzer has any interest, given how his tenure ended compared to Verlander. And because he can still be a #1 or 2 on a WS level team and will be offered deals as such.
Hinch is an awesome manager. The only thing he does somewhat consistently that kind of annoys me is he seems to never want relievers to finish one inning and then start the next one. I like that he goes to Fulmer or Cisnero to put out fires in the middle innings, but I feel like we waste some of those guys by pulling them after .1 or .2 innings and then starting fresh the next inning. Fulmer threw 12 pitches in the 6th tonight. Now sure why you don't just let him start the 7th and see what happens. Now we've got Funkhouser in a mess.
4 infield singles and an error on a ground ball to the pitcher. Most frustrating couple of inning ever. Cleveland is getting nothing on any contact, yet keeps getting on base
Is Morosi part of Bally Sports Crew now? Or is this a one time thing? Missed the start of this game and haven't been able to watch last couple on TV
Vinegar Strokes your calling for us to sign an OF this off-season. How does that work when you got a lot of OF on the 40 man?
4.0 - 5.0 is considered All Star level. It would probably have been higher if he had only played 3rd the whole time
This lineup bums me out. Bottom 4 are all players that could never see an AB again for the Tigers and we'd all be happy. Didn't realize how key Badoo and to a lesser extent Hill/Rogers was in my interest in watching this offense.
Goodrum just left the game with an injury. He isn’t good, but it would be nice if everyone didn’t get hurt at one time.
Hinch said he would do what he could to have 500 happen at home, so I think Miggy sits tomorrow (especially if we win tonight).
Good news: currently tied for 2nd in the AL Central Bad news: we don't get to play Baltimore or Texas any more this season
He hasn't played in the majors at all yet. Whether or not he becomes a super two depends on when they decide to bring him up. If he started the season on the opening day roster, he'd almost assuredly be super two eligible down the road. Having said all that, the CBA is expiring so who knows if super two will even be a thing by next season.
I have no idea what Super Two even means. I was just throwing out a buzz word I hear a lot about top prospects.
I think super two means he has one less year of arbitration and we would have to pay him sooner if he’s good. Only really matters for cheap fuck owners like Chris, but teams definitely manipulate the service time
