Don't rewrite history because that's not what happened. You got indignant that anyone would even mention the possibility that Ajax wasn't actually on par with Liverpool or Barcelona. You took it as an affront to your honor.
Sorry guys, I won’t engage. I know Watson will post that I’m doing it as a sign he’s right and so be it. I won’t respond. Good luck Saturday
I mean you started the discussion and now you're running from it. Which is exactly what you did after it turned out you were wrong about Ajax.
Wicket We're lining up a bid for Bergwijn apparently? What can you tell us about him and does this strain our budding friendship? https://psv.supporters.nl/nieuws/ar...-van-Tottenham-voor-Steven-Bergwijn'#reageren
I know a lot of you guys were upset with him this season for his performance, which was bad, but as I suspected he played hurt a lot of the season.
honestly think tottenham might be a small step to far but he is a good winger, great in small spaces, has a nose for the goal and is suprisingly physical and a damn hard worker, personally id prefer him over lozano in a winning team
Really is perfect that both clubs had such an amazing semi final tie. That way their is some consolation for whoever loses.
If we sold Eriksen and Toby this summer, but signed Lo Celso, Ndombele, and Sessegnon, how would you feel?
I've resigned myself to losing both of them, and those are probably the best players we can realistically bring in.
As I mentioned last week, I am in Sydney this week during the final. Turns out the game is only being broadcast here through some dumb phone app. Looking at supporters clubs and all of the events start the day before and the game is at 5AM. They said lockout is a high probability. There is a casino about a half mile from my hotel where I can watch that holds 1000 people but they said it locks out unless you get there super early...like the day before. The other major venue is a big Liverpool sports bar so no dice there. I have a client meeting at 9AM and fly back the next day. This is going to be a fucking marathon. We better win for all this effort.
I’m really curious how we lone up defensively. If we go 3-5-2, I worry Liverpool’s advanced fullbacks pin our wingbacks back and we struggle to get out. We could go with the 4-4-2 diamond we’ve shown a lot if Winks is fit. That gives us fullbacks and midfielders out wide to help. I think Winks is vital, honestly. These are our lineups for the league matches this season.
I’m ok with Trippier if Kane starts, as he’s much more effective with a true target man to whip it in to.
The biggest thing is going to be us forcing Robertson and TAA back with our wing play and countering ability. We can’t just let them bomb forward with no defensive responsibility whatsoever.
I’m terrified of their fullbacks. It’s why I want Sony and Lucas to start. Counter their speed with our own speed.
Agreed. I’m leaning towards Kane starting on the bench right now. If we’re able to absorb pressure, there are going to be some great chances for Sonny and Lucas.
I’m most worried about the first 25 minutes. They’re going to come out aggressively and we’ve got to be able to withstand it. Also wouldn’t mind seeing a 4-2-3-1 if Winks is truly match fit. Still think Harry needs to start on the bench. He can come on at 55 or 60 minutes if we need a goal. Son Eriksen - Dele- Lucas Winks - Sissoko Rose -Jan -Toby - fuck us Hugo
What's the alternative to winks? Wanyama? Dier? Drop Eriksen or Dele deeper? We've tried all of those and we know they're terrible. I'd take Winks at 85-90% over all of those options. I'd never take 85-90% Kane over 100% Son or Moura.
I wouldn’t mind the same strategy we used against Man City in the 2nd league game. At least to start the game because, as mentioned above, Liverpool is going to coming out of the gates gunning for an early goal. It was just a few days after eliminating them in CL, so i think Poch knew he couldn’t play his regular style just because of how draining that match was in the mid week game. We lost 1-0 but we created so many chances by sitting back and countering. Son and Lucas blew multiple shots that match to tie or even win. Ederson has some nice saves but we should’ve scored a couple.
