I’ll go on record and say I think Sherrod Brown is our best candidate for ‘20. From a math standpoint, he has a great chance to pull PA, WI, and MI back into the blue column which puts him over 270, meaning he could lose OH and still win (I think he wins a close one there tho). I think he would also be a good contrast to Trump—middle class progressive from Ohio who drives a Jeep GC and has a solid rep fighting for working families. The way I see it, ‘20 will ultimately come down to Democrats nominating someone the moderates in the Rust Belt/FL can live with. Guess we’ll see...
Brown is a dull guy. He knows Ohio and how to appeal to blue collar voters in the Rust Belt, but he lacks the type of personality to run against Trump. He won’t fair any better than Kasich did. He just won his third term as US Senator and most people outside Ohio have no idea who he is. He’s led a nondescript political life. He’ll get burned in the Presidential spotlight.
Knowing how to appeal to blue collar voters puts him in the WH, especially if you’re conceding he wins the three states I referenced.
This Judge has been against Kemp for multiple matters now. Last case was on paper ballots, and while the GOP won that they did not need them for 2018 - she skewered him for how poorly he was performing his job as SoS. He has to be tired of her.
Arthur Blank and Home Depot can suck a box of dicks. I will buy something from Lowe’s that is an inch off from what I need and change the project to make it work before I buy from Home Depot.
he may be a shitbag (i honestly don't know his history) but arthur blank is one of the few democrats within pro sports ownership (and especially the nfl) is he not?
He's actually talking about Bernie Marcus here, the co-founder with Arthur. Neither of which have held a position in the company or board for a long time so not sure what your boycott is based on. While Bernie has definitely gone a little off the rocker at his late age & I don't agree with his political stance, he has donated quite a substantial amount to philanthropy over the last 20+ years (250M to Georgia Aquarium, 25M to Autism Speaks, part of the Giving Pledge, etc.). Also, in terms of outreach programs and impact on the community Home Depot > Lowes.
Inbreds are freaking out that it's her again or she's an Obama appointee or that these are votes being "made up". I wish we could strip them of their right to vote or make it extremely difficult and painful. It's so disgusting to see people think the right to vote should be treated as a partisan matter.
FWIW - Home Depot has two main co-founders Authur Blank and Bernie Marcus. Marcus is behind the “Stock Buyback” video and is a is a rabid capitalist type and pro-Trump. Blank probably wouldn’t be described as woke, but is pretty left leaning in the Fortune 100 CEO scale.
You’re right. It’s been about 30 years since Bernie went on and told Democrats they didn’t have brains last year and that he stands with Trump. Shame that every news station chose to associate him with Home Depot still. I’m not the only one that intentionally steered clear for that reason.
Rich guy cuts checks to charity for the tax break, shit let’s sanctify him. Just because his financial management team allocates his money into good causes doesn’t change the fact that he’s a piece of shit.
Trump dunking on Macron this morning after his stupid anti nationalist comment and his suggestion that the euros build their own army.
Yeah, he pays all of the stadium staff very well and was the first to make concessions affordable for families.
like I said, I definitely don't agree with the bullshit he's been spewing out the last couple of years, but I think that demeanor and mentality is recent developments (know quite a few people that worked alongside him at Home Depot and have only ever heard good things about him). I'm definitely not defending the brains comment or any of that stuff. But, I do have a hard time hating on anyone that has donated at the level he has, regardless of if there are underlying tax benefits etc.
