Where's the Pache talking coming from? Bowman said last two years, and he was the 2015 signing class. I took Bowman's post to mean 2016 and 2017 classes since Bae is involved. Contreras was even before Pache.
Acuna is fine. He signed under Wren. Pache should be okay as well. But the safe expectation is that any player signed in the last two IFA players, expect them to be gone.
i think mlb needs to really hammer us and hit snit with a show-cause it is the only way we will learn our lesson
MLB To Meet With Braves Players On Tuesday By Ben Badler / November 20, 2017 at 09:24 PM EST Major League Baseball has informed several Braves prospects that they will meet with them on Tuesday afternoon, according to multiple sources. The players will either meet with league officials in person in the Dominican Republic or be informed of what's happening by phone. ADVERTISEMENT Baseball America was not able to confirm every player contacted to meet with MLB, but the players contacted appear to include nearly all of the team's top international signings from 2016, the year the Braves went over their international bonus pool. MLB has been investigating the Braves' international signings, with the team expecting to lose multiple players they signed in recent years. While few specifics have come out regarding what rules MLB has determined the Braves violated and what sanctions the team will face, given that MLB has called a meeting with the players for tomorrow, those details should emerge soon.
Agreements on players too early, bundling money to prospects (overpaying for lesser prospects, with the surplus of that money funneled to better prospects who then signed with Atlanta), under the table inducements, etc. Dunno how many any draft guys are involved, but accusations of under the table inducements, having players fake injuries, telling other teams they won’t sign, etc. Basically, everyone goes 90 in a 70 in regards to this stuff, but Braves were going 105 and being brash about it.
Coppy is never going to get another job. No chance. Not if he costs the franchise 17 million in lost bonuses
MLB Removing Prospects From Braves By Ben Badler / November 21, 2017 at 01:13 PM EST Major League Baseball informed multiple Braves international signings today that they will become free agents, multiple sources told Baseball America. Those players include shortstop Kevin Maitan and catcher Abrahan Gutierrez, who received the Braves’ top two signing bonuses in their 2016 class. The players will have restrictions on their free agency. BA will update the list of players removed from the organization and the rules regarding their next contracts as that information becomes available.
lawyers itt will have to weigh in to confirm but i am fairly sure that we have legal justification to murder coppy for this shit
William. Because it makes me feel better saying that. Just like saying Maitan is fat and will never amount to anything makes me feel better.
Maitan is fat That is our shitty Contreras Severino can hit but at best would be a subpar second baseman Gutierrez is funny looking
It was a cardinals employee accessing the Astro’s player data base by using the password the ex cardinals scouting director used in STL and took with him to Houston. It was shitty and the cards paid a price but it wasn’t an organizational conspiracy. Phone tapping would be a huge offense. Can’t remember specifics but we lost some draft picks and the offender is now in jail.
During the 2019-2020 IFA period, we can only spend $10k per player. In 2020-2021, our IFA pool money will be cut in half. MLB deep dicked us without any lube.
"The total number of players that the Braves will lose will be 12 (!). As of this writing, there are six known players in Kevin Maitan, Abrahan Gutierrez, Livan Soto, Yefri del Rosario, Yunior Severino, and Juan Contreras."
Article on yahoo says 3 additional guys from the Maitan class as well as 3 from the next class, including Bae.
For this to have been all the work of Coppy and not Hart, the MLB sure deep dicked the Barves with the equivalent of the death penalty
guys lets agree to never again mention the names of all the guys we lost. hopefully by the time they all turn into all stars i will have forgotten their names
