My mom is in full-blown I don't want to hear a word of politics/news. We rarely ever do as it is, but I went to joke about something, she got reactive and I had to bring down, explain I wasn't selling anything but a funny anecdote. Good news is she isn't watching fox.. hopefully a little time weaned off and she can be a bit more open to non-crazy shit. Selfishly looking forward to the family holiday/trump voter stories on tmb, but I just think of how twisted up you need to be to get on board with modern day GOP and imagine how much more confusion sets in when you start defending it.. rock and a hard spot to help these people out

I've been doing friendsgiving the last couple of years in Seattle with a ton of Ohio transplants. My family is lib to the core, so that isn't the reason. I'd rather spend time with those that can't travel home to see family, with the added benefit being I don't get to see them much throughout the year. It's also nice to get wasted amongst peers for an extended weekend. 10/10 would recommend
