Serious question: Do you know any Muslims personally? If so discuss their lives with them. One of my wife's good friends is a beautiful Muslim woman who wears a hijab. She and her doctor husband (also Muslim) are kind, warm and intelligent people. They have two children under the age of 8, both born here and both parents came over as kids. More than once while out walking or around town, they have had people chant "build that wall" or "Trump" or both while driving by them, sometimes throwing drinks, cans, trash etc at them and their children. The husband gets rightfully angry but then shrugs it off saying" I know these people are the minority". Now imagine these are your kids, your wife, your community and you were a lot less reasonable than this man (Which I think most people, no matter their religion or race, are). You don't think you could be radicalized? Please. You've already been conditioned to fear people you don't know because of shit you've seen on TV. Irrational people who are experiencing fear will always look for the most easily recognizable common thread of those who cause that fear and attack that. In your case it is the religion. Often it's skin color or region/country of origin. In Muslim extremists case it's western culture. I know a lady who hates everybody from North Carolina because she's been in three car accidents with tourists from there. Your fear of Muslims is equally irrational, just more socially acceptable.
I studied Arabic for the military for two years, and one of my best friends converted to Islam in college cuz it helped her deal with some tragedies she went thru. People are just people. One of my instructors was a Jordanian who came to this country with absolutely nothing, learned English watching South Park, and liked for us to find Arabic words that sound dirty in English. He worked his ass off to get a TS clearance (which is INSANELY hard for a foreign born person even outside of being Arab) so he could teach special ops guys Arabic. Another of my instructors died because her asshole husband wouldn’t let her go to the doctor and she got cancer. People are awesome or assholes completely independent of background.

it's just emotional nonsense. of course i understand that there are plenty of muslims that are nice human beings. i am all for nice human beings. the problem is that muslims are susceptible to radicalization at a disproportional rate to other religions. and the "moderate" muslim is generally a myth, when referencing muslims not actually born in America.
