One is reflectivity. Standard radar. Bottom is velocity. Reds away from radar, greens toward --> implies rotation. That storm had very strong rotation
Likely debris from a tornado on the right panel. Right panel measures how similar he radar "returns" are. Debris is randomly shaped and is tumbling, thus it shows up as less similar horizontally and vertically --> low number/lots of yellows and blue colors on the display
Wife has been super sad about this all day but she just told me that it was confirmed that they were able to save them.
according to the weather channel, the entire west coast is in for a rough night/monday be safe florida bros
Wow you've been without power since last night. I'm right by north Andrew elementary and I didn't lose power until that last dirty band started coming through a few hours ago. Other than some parts of the fence around my house being down, some branches from the mango tree out front, and the mini pond developing in front of my yard, the worst part of this storm has been my toddler starting to run a fever during it. Im very lucky considering what it could have been
Haven't heard from my brother/dad since 2pm. My aunt somehow had service around 4pm but looks like she lost her service as well.
Yes I am. That's what I'm assuming, more worried about the storm surge as my dads house will be fucked if it's 10+ ft
Awesome. Those manatees have to be confused as hell. First all the water just gets sucked out in minutes. Then a bunch of humans walk out with tarps and carry them back to the water. Hell of a day.
I'm out of two kinds of hurricane mix in Hilton Head. Got a solid buzz and I'm thankful it didn't hit my families place over here. Watching my nest cam in middle Georgia and it raining at my house but looks calm
No power lost. Wind still hitting from time to time but overall minimum damage with just two small trees falling.
Tornado warning for me. Hanging out in a closet with a fan and my iPad with watchespn. Still have power and interwebs
Winter Springs checking in. (North orlando). Starting to get bad. Multiple tornado warnings. We got 8 huge pines dropping branches on the roof and in the pool. Power has gone out twice for a few minutes each time.
Overall it looks like it is definitely better than expected. The keys and Naples got wrecked, but that was happening anyway. Looks like Tampa won't be hit quite as hard and if it stays over land, then north Florida will be in much better shape.
Checking in near south Jax. Still got power and it's just rain right now but we have a tree that looks like it's about to fall in our front yard onto some power lines
Starting to get bad in Downtown Orlando. Wind picking up and under tornado warning. Had a light flicker but hoping power stays on. Just baked a cake and loaded up like 8 giant containers with water.
winds in east orlando are starting to get really bad also under tornado watch/warning/whichever one is worse
Just cut the tree that was on my car. Damn chain Kees falling off. It's full of oil, but I think the water and humidity is making it jam up.
