Was worried my 3 hr extension on the DVR wouldn't catch the whole thing tonight. Loved that Gordo went oppo for 2 of his 3 hits. First Moose dong post derby. Was definitely starting to worry about that. 1.5 back in division, 2 in WC. Really need a sweep cause it's been a waste of a home stand so far. BB needs to go early in the count when he's subbing in, Dys used to pull he same shit. Minor had good stuff as always. Should be the 5th starter.
Can we get serious for a second? We all know Denny has 1 more year left then he's out. We all know Ryno wants to take that baton and be the radio voice of the royals for the next few decades. Why he wants radio over TV? I dunno. But seriously, after Denny retires Ryan WILL be the voice of the Royals, he doesn't need to do radio right now AKA get Phys the fuck off my TV broadcasts, please. He's been on so damn many this year and it's shit.
Minor might work as a starter but how awful would the bullpen be without him. I don't think he likes working with Hud.
Apparently Lefebvre's contract with Fox runs for two more years, so that adds another season of split TV/Radio, at least. The funny part to me is that I was pretty down on Lefebvre with Frank White (maybe not Ryan's fault). I thought he was well below average as an announcer until Phys came over and lowered my expectations immediately. Most the time I just mute the Phys/Hud games because you absolutely must have a PBP guy that reigns Hud in and calls him out on his bullshit every once in a while. Physioc just eggs him on and constantly says dumb shit. I will say, though, if I notice a trivia question I'll unmute it because they're usually good for two or three atrocious guesses between the both of them.
Physioc is the worst broadcaster I have ever heard. He should be a news anchor in some shitty town, not a pro sports announcer. I usually watch the games on mute when he's on TV.
You guys buyers this year? Darvish is on the market, and I think you may well win the division with him. It's probably too risky though, given you probably can't cash in on another WS.
We'll wait till 48 hrs till the deadline but if we're sitting the same as we are now we're buying. We need 3 total arms between starters and pen.
Would love to make a deal with the Royals on this one. The Dodgers or Yankees getting him makes me want to pu*e. But looking at the top prospects list it probably won't happen.
What is the consensus asking price for Darvish? I'd have no qualms getting rid of anyone for him but I doubt Dayton wants to lose what few prospects we have or eat his salary.
And Maurer has another year on his deal. We won't move him to closer but we should and then slot Kelvin back in the 8th.
At first glance I don't mind it. Losing Strahm is a blow but I don't think he was destined for more than a middling starter anyway. Wish Cahill had team control beyond this year but it is what it is. I was fearing a trade that would mortgage the future, and I don't think this really does. Plus it gets rid of the Wood contract, so that's cool.
Am I just too close to the situation or did we win this trade in a landslide? We give up: - future #3/4 starter without a third pitch who just suffered a pretty serious knee injury - turd SP/RP with a bad contract that had an ERA near 7.00 We get: - #4 starter - power righty with 2 more arb years - lefty reliever with great K numbers who can be controlled through 2021 Seems too good to be true. There's no way they're taking on Wood's contract, right?
Wait. Maurer has 1 or 2 years or arb left? Verne said 1 but literally announced it live so he may of been wrong. And we're sending some cash for Woods aweful deal.
I love dongs. Big ones, little ones, all of them. Would appreciate pulling Hammel immediately after the #9 hitter's second AB next game.
It's been like this all season. We get on a win streak so do they. We get on a losing streak so do they.
