Fair point. Thankfully I believe Chernin is smarter than that. Edit to say that I'm most concerned with content becoming watered down as they try to create/fill too much airtime/social media.
that too is a valid concern, Chernin does seem to know that he has to let Barstool be Barstool but as someone who has been reading their stuff for about 9 months, I feel that I missed out on their purest form. some of the "common man" essence goes out the window when they slap an advertisement on everything. closing the comments in order to force people to respond via facebook/twitter isn't a move that is reader friendly, its to drive up the social media metrics. I kind of get pissed off when I see there are 80+ comments and when I click "show comments", all that I get is "Comments are Closed"
Met a chick at the bar that said she's from San Francisco and is family friends with Jim Tomsula, forget how that came up (prob cause Harbaugh was on tv idk). I'm like oh that's a football guy right there, dude is electric. She responds in the cutest little giggle "haha so electric." Didn't get her number #Jimbo. That's like an inception Jimbo
Already made plans to leave at lunch with a co-worker and just drive around listening to the new XM show
He called into the radio show and Dave explaining that Simon just "looks like a porn guy" was hilarious. Said he could be the new naked cowboy by just showing up dressed like a pirate everyday.
Unmuted: The Daily Podcast with Woody Paige and Jay Marrioti already has 297 reviews averaging 1 star, feels like the work of the AWL's.
I would think it is implied. They already said they were going to be down there and if it wasn't during the Super Bowl week that would be pretty strange.
Probably a test run to see what the ratings look like on live television. If that works then maybe do a test run of some afternoon spots (going up against PTI/ATH?) and if that goes well phase out the rundown and transition to a network show. That would seem to be a logical move.
I'd imagine this is gonna be terrible for outsiders but it will be great for stoolies who know their shtick. Looking forward to watching it.
There is no way they do away with podcasts. That is an entirely separate medium to broadcast content and get their message out from TV. Things are pretty much progressing exactly as Nardini indicated they would in her first podcast with Dave. They were woefully behind in social media and have changed that quickly focusing on facebook live, snapchat and facebook all together. Second was going to be exploring additional avenues which first came with radio and Sirius XM and now getting to the TV with Comedy Central. If you are talking about the full rundowns being on the internet I would think if the TV thing goes well that doesn't occur. Maybe they do 2-3 minute recaps but I would imagine they try to convert the old stoolies to TV watchers to boost their numbers overall.
more along the lines of the last statement you made. i like the rundown, and it's sometimes awful radio with all of the randomness going on in the office. i just don't watch tv like i used to and would likely never go out of my way to follow barstool to tv
I've said all along I would rather have the rundown as is on the internet and not on TV. Probably in the minority, just don't think it will be as good on comedy central. I of course get why they would want to, just personally don't want to see it happen.
