This doodle phase is out of control. Everywhere I go I see these doodles. I don't understand. I've only met poodles that were dickheads.
Pool pic was taken about a year ago and we just remembered we had it. Totally impromptu, just walked out the back door and he was just chillen there.
See, I love standard poodles. I plan to get one as my next dog. I don't really see the point in mixing them other than the offspring being adorable.
Because people love Golden Retrievers and hate the shedding. I haven't been around too many standard poodles, all but one have been super annoying and hyper as hell. I mark that to being poorly trained and exercised by the owners, but still.
We adopted a standard poodle in March. He had been with an 80 year old lady for his four years, so he came in cocky as hell. He has a bit of an attitude and is really needy, but he has turned in to an awesome dog too. I never thought I would like a poodle, but he has won me over. And 100% correct on doodles. Labs and Goldens are great, but shed. These are the best of both worlds. Plus, tegg was right, too. They are cute as hell.
My only regret with him was wasting his puppy years on a girlfriend. He was such a chick magnet as a pup.
Flying home tonight, picking my labs up tomorrow. Can't wait, wish I had driven him with them rather than flown.
well Norman (my boston terrier) needs surgery to fix his luxating patella. his knee cap stays to the inside of his leg and outside the groove where it should fit. cool $2,800 procedure with a few months of recovery - no jumping, no running, leashed at all times outside. the cost is a bitch but honestly the recovery is going to be the hardest part. dude runs and jumps all over the place. I cannot catch a fucking break with my pooches, but at least they are still here.
Ha - yeah. My other dog had his front right leg amputated 14 months ago and it took him about 3-4 weeks to get back to normal.
Basically the bloodline. They're technically American bullies. http://americanbullydaily.com/pit-bull-dogs/razor-edge-pit-bulls-history/
Going to have to put my boy down soon. Girl isn't far behind. I'm going to be a mess when both happen.
Bought a camera to keep an eye on my dogs while I gone. Has two way audio so I can talk to them. Went out tonight and check the cam about an hour later and Lily got out of her crate somehow and Connor is just standing up in his. Check again about 45 minutes later and he's still standing up. Finally get home and find he had explosive diarrhea all over the place. Was all over my hardwoods, his crate, him. What a disaster.
Noticed that there's starting to be bald streaks on one side towards the back before it meets the hind legs. The skin underneath is flaky. She's not itching the area but I'm concerned as to what's causing this. She's been on the same food for 4 months now with no previous issues. I've been giving her beef pizzles and bulky sticks a little more frequently recently and the weather has been a little cold but she's still been outside enough. Anyone experience something similar?
Lily: Hey Connor....check it out. I got out of my crate. And ohhh man theres some good stuff to eat out here! Connor: Na-aw! Unfair. Help me out! Lily: Ok but you gotta eat this first. I just got it from the room and oh man it's great. Connor: No that smells terrible. Lily: Just do it I'll let you out promise. Connor: [eats] that wasnt so bad Lily: You just wait. [Runs]
Just put in an application for this one. Says she is a Pug/Shih-Tzu mix, face is pretty puggy, the nose a tad bit extended, which would be nice if it helps with the breathing. . We'll see how it goes.
Need to post some new pics of Nymeria. She turned 3 on Jan 1. Her leg is doing much better, she still will hold it up in the air sometimes but I think that's something that will never completely go away. She'll take off running on it at times and act like all is fine. Here she is at my parent's with her Christmas present from my mom. And wore out after about 10 minutes with her birthday present. It has, well had 16 different squeakers in it.
She's having potty accidents again though.. not sure what's going on. She was doing really well then all of a sudden has had a couple pee accidents even when she's only been left alone out of her crate for 30 minutes to an hour.
Oh, awesome. I can finally be involved in the GOAT animal thread. Here's my new rescue pup. He's about 2 years old, weighs 80lbs but is way under weight. I'll have him up to full strength very soon. His original name was Olaf, but that movie was horribly overrated so I have him a more fitting name of a protector, "Hodor".
