If he's still playing good soccer as a 36 year old mid in two years I'll be thrilled, but I'm not holding my breath.
this sucks LeanderAlphabet @LeanderAlphabet 44s45 seconds ago If the #USMNT were in @MLS, its average attendance would be last. By a lot. Something is very wrong there. Seems to be the ticket prices.
It's def ticket prices and partly product on the field. However it's certainly more so pricing I think. The cheapest tickets in Frisco for a midweek game with a 7pm start was 45 bucks from what I heard.
You see guys like Yedlin, Bedoya, Brooks, and Wood improve so much in Europe and it pisses me off that Altidore and Bradley (and especially younger guys like Morris) are in the MLS.
When we play a shit team our team plays with confidence and good skill. When we play a good team or an important game we play scared and tight.
While I agree with you, he is the one guy on the team who can reliably make a goal out of nothing. You can argue that with a different guy there, you wouldn't have to score against the run of play, but with what we have, you can't undervalue a poachers poacher out there. That said, I really look forward to the day where we have someone who can permanently supplant him from the team. In the meantime, I fully anticipate watching Deuce meander through 80% of a game, piss off every full back within a mile radius and pick up stupid cards all while hoping he will pop up behind the defense at exactly the right time.
I think it was @zerberdee that alluded to how the team runs when he's in there, he sucks up space and clogs the middle. It's just awkward to watch. Unfortunately you are right.
