Anybody been to Top Golf in Tampa? Went yesterday with a big group. It was awesome, great atmosphere and its fun for non-golfers as well
I want to hit at one of those ranges that has the like animated landing zones for targets..seems like it'd be neat.
Went to the one in Austin during a Bachelor Party. Awesome time, even for the 5-6 guys that don't like golf.
No. He posted this today. http://www.tigerwoods.com/news/2016/03/02/165933570/tiger-chipping-and-putting-at-home/ TIGER CHIPPING AND PUTTING AT HOME The 14-time major winner attends openings at Bluejack National, a TWD course outside Houston By Tiger Woods As I announced last week, I am starting to feel a lot better. I have been chipping and putting at home, and recently started hitting 9 irons. That's been so nice. After all, Florida is the Sunshine State. My son Charlie and I compete in just about everything and have three-hole chipping contests. The loser has to do push-ups. My short game feels pretty sharp. The big thing right now is trying to get stronger and more flexible. Sitting out as long as I did, some weakening occurred, and I have a lot of work ahead of me. While there is no timetable on my return to competitive golf, I want to play this game at the highest level again. In order to do that, I have to get healthy. I've received many nice calls and texts from my fellow PGA TOUR players and want to thank them for their support and encouragement. It's a fraternity out there, and we're all in this together. Today, I am excited to be outside Houston to host a special member day for the official opening of The Playgrounds and The Place at Bluejack National. The Playgrounds is a 10-hole short course where the focus is on fun and family. The vision is to attract multi-generations to promote socializing with family and friends and introduce new players to the game. Players can practice there too, and it challenges golfers of all skill levels to learn to hit a variety of shots. We will also celebrate the opening of The Place, just the third Nike Performance Center in the world. I'm grateful to Nike for its support. The front nine at Bluejack National is now open, and I am very appreciative for the nice reviews. I couldn't be more proud of how it is turning out. The back nine is scheduled to open in late April. That's all for now. As always, thanks so much for your great support. Without a doubt, I have the best fans in the world. Take care.
hey did i tell you guys that i sent a letter to arnold palmer so that he would send me one back with his signature, it's perdy neat
Jason Sobel @JasonSobelESPN Rory McIlroy confirms he'll switch to left-hand-low putting stroke this week. Hasn't used it in competition since rookie year in 2008.
I'd prefer he figures it out AFTER the Ryder Cup but overall I agree with you. Would be sweet to have a period of time when Rory, Jordan, Rickie, DJ are all playing at the top of their games.
can't help but pity the people there (women) who don't bring their own clubs and the crap they have to use
It makes it a lot more popular cause it's not just a "golf range for golfers". Pool tables, a 3 story building with bars everywhere, and good food if you can believe it A little pricey but other than that it's fantastic
The "problem" with top golf is splitting a bay with 5 people for an hour is affordable, but no one is really going to get to hit the amount of shots that they want. So you either split into smaller groups and get more bays, or you stay 2-3 hours. The food is good, but just like chugging beers at a decent restaurant for 3 hours it adds up. For the record I love top golf it just ends up being expensive.
It really sucks when people start drinking and forget it's their turn. I be like "Bitch, shut the fuck up and take your shot. Time is money." This shit I put up with.
They have brand name clubs you can checkout to use (not sure if you have to pay for these) but the clubs that are stocked at every bay are in fact very low end
Haha I'd be like this too. I know most of you guys are in the south but for any that aren't....are the TopGolf locations in the "north" open in the winter too? Seem's like it would be awesome to join a league in the winter with some friends.
very low end but you arent going there to work on your game. Its more of an entertainment place that you go with a fun group, than a golf place (at least in my eyes). You can go hit 500 balls on a range for $5 if you want to work on your game
BTW, the closest one to me is KC but I have tweeted @ them in the past and they have said that Omaha is "on our list" so I'm hoping its sooner rather than later!
Completely agree, I don't go there expecting to figure out what's going on with my swing plane. Just speaking to the fact that he said he didn't think the equipment was that bad And speaking of all of this, I'm going to TG on Saturday. Crazy
That's some shit I could get behind. Love visiting my inlaws because their country club has "free" range balls. At least they are free to me. Unfortunately, that only happens about 2-3 times per year.
There's one range in Manhattan, NYC. By the time you get there (it's out of the way for most people), you're spending around $40 for a small bucket depending on the time of day.
Callaway is a major investor in top golf. The problem is that the equipment gets so beat up by nongolfers.
this was me on Saturday those prices are actually cheaper than my Top golf. Think its $25/hour before noon. Noon to 5 is $35, and from 5 to Close its $45. Just really ridiculous unless you're bringing 6 ppl....by that point you're not getting to hit the # of balls you want. That said, usually a fun time.
