Lol Taylor. "Trust me you don't want to be playing regular season MLS games in a baseball stadium". Obviously he's right but just funny with nycfc
Yeah with all of the stadium options at the USMNT's disposal they should never be playing on a pitch like that.
I agree. I had a great time at the game but you could easily tell the pitch wasn't meant for soccer. Also having one sideline's stands 100 ft away from the sideline was awkward.
Didn't expect that big of a crowd, fun game. St Vincent is an awful team, I can't believe they scored that first goal
Oh wow you think? @ussoccer: JK: “We thought it might be a good idea to keep consistency with the position Fabian Johnson is playing with his club.” #USMNT
I believe St. Louis sold out a USWNT friendly there at Busch this year. It's a pretty big soccer town that just has never had someone with money step up for an MLS team/stadium.
More Fab in the midfield, more Yedlin at fullback. Plz and thx Jurgen. Hopefully we're about to get good Jozy for awhile. When he's confident everything about his game completely changes. He's even less lazy. Obviously we were always going to dominate that game but I liked the lineup Jurgen went with which is something I haven't said in awhile
so is playing on fieldturf. Especially for significant matches/tournaments - personally, it comes off as the US (Canada for the WWC) being tone deaf and insisting on operating how they see fit (akin to MLS swimming upstream with schedules opposite of Europe, playoffs, initially having nicknames for each club - side note: Comcast gives each BPL team a nickname in their TV guide listing. "West Ham United Hammers, Liverpool Reds, EvertonToffees, etc. Comcast is the worst) I can understand that with the need for multi-purpose stadiums grass is much tougher to maintain, so for the MLS and low end international matches its not ideal but passable.
that Comcast stuff is not accurate for me. I've never seen that even back in the Fox Soccer channel days.
Fucking ridiculous that just about every euro qualifier is on TV, but I cant watch a US match. (on tv) Im sure I'll find a stream
I think this will be a tight match. Last time the US played in Port of Spain it took Ricardo Clark scoring to win the match I believe....
yeah....also it looks like it could be a 6-2-2 at times. I think Ream and Orozco play CB for their club.
what is the betting line on this match? USA -150 to win and T&T +130 to win/draw? I like T&T. EDIT: T&T +325 to win and Draw is +240
Yeah I look at the lineup and see 4 CBs and 2 guys Jurgen wants at fullback playing midfield (I think we all love seeing Fabian there though)
I read this as creepy at first. When they followed the woman in the crowd up to her seat I was waiting for someone to do this
