I feel like its a tweak and polish to lollipop. Not anything that really stands out. I feel like the new google now (Now on tap) will be the best new feature
I already stay on top of my inbox ("0 inbox strategy") so i don't have much need for inbox. I file everything based on its content/future action required by me. Not sure what I have to gain from inbox seems pretty cool though.
Im not OCD or anything, but its just a good feeling when you have an personal inbox of less than ~15 or so emails. Right now, I'm at 3 emails
It is so easy to keep your inbox clear of unread messages. Especially with categories since I get payment emails for the shops sent to my email so them going right to a category is nice.
Has anyone here used to M flashables on XDA? I'm following the instructions, but can't get past the Google screen. Seems like others are having issues too.
Yeah, the flashables have been causing problems. I side loaded it via fastboot and I'm good to go. I'll drop back to 5.1.1 though as too many apps aren't working at the moment. Android M + Hells Kernel is snappy as fuck.
Too bad my phone only utilizes it at night. I'm usually on my phone all through the day/evening due to work.
I restored my 5.1.1 backup just now. A good chuck of my apps weren't working right. Heck even BBS wasn't working even though I had root.
Looking to get a new phone. Have had the HTC M8 One for a year now and love it but the in-call volume doesn't work and I can't make/receive calls without it being on speakerphone now. I'm on Verizon so the Nexus isn't an option. Should I just go with the M9 or is there something else out there that's a better option?
Damn, didn't realize that. Good news that Verizon is finally becoming cool with them. That said, I just looked at it and I'm just not ready to go phablet. This M8 One is about as large as I think I want to go.
I would suggest the second generation Motorola Moto X or the LG G4 as rdoanecu recommends if you want to stay in the non-phablet size range. I have had the first generation Moto X for over a year and have been very pleased. I am anti Samsung for their S series; the Note series is well reviewed/liked but that is phablet territory.
Had a droid turbo for a while and loved it. Great option for those that don't like the Note4/Nexus size
It's for my dad. He has a galaxy 5 but his went to shit so he is wanting to change from Samsung, but im so skeptical with Droids since the last two i had (now 4 years ago) went to shit quickly.
Yeah I didn't have any problems with it at all, but only had it about 3 months. Went from a Note 3 to the Turbo and couldn't get past the smaller size, that's the only reason I switched to the Nexus6
he wanted a note but i told him to wait for a new one but his galaxy is fucked so he cant wait for it.
fired up my old htc one (m7). any idea on how to enable wifi texting/calling? I don't even see an option on this phone.
I remember thinking it wasn't as good as I'd thought it would be with that big ass battery, but my expectations might have been inflated.
That always seems to be the case for me. I guess I just use battery power like a fiend but my phones never seem to last nearly as long as I expect them to.
Huawei came out with a nice looking smart watch as well (albeit expensive): http://consumer.huawei.com/minisite/worldwide/huawei-watch/
Nexus 5 running M preview showing 2.7 greater standby time than on Lollipop: http://9to5google.com/2015/06/08/nexus-5-android-m-2-7x-greater-standby-lollipop/
is it active? you might need a carrier OTA to add the feature. i think most carriers still send out OTAs even to non activated phones. and its probably in the first couple options on the settings screen like on most HTC phones. around wifi, network data, hotspot, etc.
Having a shitty experience ever since I updated to lollipop 5.0 on my G3. Any recommendations? My battery life is terrible among other random issues
heard multiple people say its their daily driver. having problems on my N9 w/ it tbh. wouldn't recommend personally. There should be an updated to the M preview in the last week of july I think.
Little late to this discussion, but I got to mess around with my friends M9 and I really couldn't tell much difference between it and my M8.' My brother has the S6 and I liked it alot.
text messaging: google hangouts apparently doesnt do group sms text anymore? I'm trying to start up a group with myself and 3 iphone people and it won't work. what are you guys using?
