I used to suck at it but felt like I had an epiphany how you gotta get your angles right and probably only missed one or two. 4-2-11 with me and BH dominating top lane against pa and omni.
How do you build her? I usually go for maximum mobility so Phase Boots, Force Staff, then usually Atos but Sheepstick if I'm rolling in dough.
A lot of times I'll get a orchid early, but WR is pretty versatile. Usually Start with one point in sprint, then max shackle and powershot (order depends on the lane). I'll grab her ultimate early if we're hitting their tower a lot. I always get phase, and force staff too. This game I got a linkens because they had a lot of single target slows (PA, naix). Our QOP mid built a sheep so I didn't need to. By the time I got my linkens though we were raxing their mid lane so game was pretty much over. I've seen one guy on WR who nearly always gets blink, boots of travel and force staff so he is ultra mobile. Experience (both in what skills/items to get and what order). If it is a hero I'm not familiar with, http://www.dota2alttab.com/ is priceless to help me out.
I'm learning what I can. I have over 600 games played in league so I know the concept of MOBAs pretty well. Just learning heroes and items right now. I was huge on League for a long time but I have to say I like Dota 2 better.
drop any item build/skill build/general questions you have in here. Between bricktop, Name Redacted and myself, I'm sure we can get a good answer for you.
It was some guy on reddit, is that how Dendi builds her? I wouldn't be surprised given the amount of manlove Na'Vi is on /r/Dota2
I've never seen Dendi play WR, but it wouldn't surprise me. That's his Rubick build, and he just seems to favor mobility on everyone.
It is not without merit, but S2 is so bad at balancing a game, and power creep is so insane in HoN, that I can no longer defend it. I do miss Bombardier, Rhapsody, Cthuluphant, Flux and Electrician a great deal though.
Currently playing HoN and have DOTA 2. I need to find a website that has lists of Hon/DOTA hero mimics. Have only played a handful of dota games and like the game, seems slower than HoN (not sure what that means but thats how it feels). Also have like 3 or 4 invites left if people need. Steam id: Offcel1
it does play slower than HoN. HoN is waaay more demanding on your reaction time. Bubbles' shell surf moves like 3 times as fast as Puck's Illusory Orb. I got all the HoN Dota equivalent heroes IN MY BRAIN, but here is a page that gives the equivalents http://honwiki.net/wiki/DotA_vs_HoN
I'll be diving into this game soon, I grabbed it before my vacation in December and only put 3 hours in. Since I've been back, I've been playing Borderlands 2, but I really want to get into dota.
getting down clicking speed is so much easier than learning every hero and item from scratch that I am still right
Well my two go-to heroes right now is Lina and Zeus I want to play more but I'm not very good at melee heroes
well when I played HoN in beta it was basically DotA w/ updated graphics...most of the heroes at the time were just DotA clones and so were the items for the most part.
These are all pretty fluid, especially Lina. I have seen carry Slayer done plenty with maxed Fiery Soul and damage gear. It's hilarious when it works. Zeus-Arcane Boots, Force Staff, Aghs, Bloodstone IMO. with Lina I usually go for treads, but you can make arguments for any boot on her. I like Force staff and/or blink dagger, then Eul's or Sheepstick if you can farm it. Aghs is also sick on her, a 900 range Laguna blade is just stupid.
like I said, they are all pretty fluid. There are a lot of right ways to build each hero. But anyone who would tell you that you are an idiot for building Lina like that is, in fact, an idiot.
Positioning is pretty important on Lina because of her (IMO) hard to land stun, and her frailness. Anything you can do to help that is a big help.
EDIT: Check to make sure your sound card is selected as the primary sound device. If not then: I would start with uninstalling the driver, rebooting, and installing again If that doesn't work, uninstall again and reinstall the old driver.
For some reason my laptop always thinks that external speakers are plugged in. I had it set up to where it would play both from the laptop speakers and whatever was plugged in before and when I updated it took that away. I just can't remember how to change it back.
Just out carried a PA in a 50 min game as a fucking Blood Seeker. The final battle was amazing becuase we had started to loose fights as the PA came on line and our Doom fucked up and doomed a creep. They took that as a chance to initiate on us for a change and we beat that ass for a team wipe and thrown without loosing anyone.
Phantom Assassin, a very very hard carry while Bloodseeker is a semi carry mid game ganker. Yea he is, haven't really played him since I quit HoN. Kiting was an issue but by the end of the game I was doing like 500 a hit with my silence up so the cowardly support died in 3 hits anyways
You'll be overloaded. Just focus on the 5 you're facing each game IMO. Phantom Assassin. Agility melee carry Has a dagger that deals damage and slows. Dagger has very long range. Has a blink spell that transports her to a target and provides improved attack speed for four(?) attacks Has a passive ability that provides evasion and hides her icon on the minimap when enemies are near Her ultimate provides critical strike. I think it goes 2x, 3x, 4x. You can get absurdly high crits with this ult if you are super farmed (2000 dmg crits)
