The haunted mask was my favorite. I actually bought that mask somewhere when I was a kid, cant for the life of me remember where though. Iirc it had a wire and you pressed the button and It made gersberms noises. Always felt pretty wearing that

When I was like 8 I entered a goosebumps contest on TV (send a post card to...).

I ended up coming in second place and won every single book at the time. Top 5 moment in my life when that huge box showed up at the door.

1st place flew to LA and met living legend RL Stine. I've convinced myself that it was for the best that I didn't win that because I would spend the rest of my life trying in vain to live up to that absolute joy.

My mom used to buy them for me every time she went to the grocery store. I was always a fast reader as a kid and I could fly through one of the books in less than an hour. My mom would get pissed. My favorites were Say Cheese and Die and the Haunted Mask. Can't think of any others off the top of my head except there was one where a kid kept bugs in a display case pinned and at the end a giant butterfly or something pinned him to a case. THE IRONY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also, did anyone read the ones where you got to choose what happened? I think the kids broke into an amusement park and you got to pick what they did. I think they ended up being robots themselves.

goosebumps were a little after my time, but choose your own adventure was pretty much a staple of my childhood.

 

most terrifying goosebumps = night of the living dummy series imo
