in the preview for next week you see Frank asking someone what the age of consent in Michigan is so I'm going to assume she's not 18.
Great episode. Next week looks insane. Really looking forward to finding out what will happen in all of the storylines.
sucks season is almost over, but I guess its time to cancel showtime until dexter comes back, unless there is a reason not to.
Great finale, but ending 10 minutes short? Waiting a year is going to suck. Really a great show and great season.
Loved Frank getting pissed on haha. Great show, wish they ran it 52 weeks a year. Alot of period dramas coming up on HBO and Showtime now, interested to see how they pan out. Both have a great track record with their shows so hopefully that will continue. Game of Thrones and The Borgias, looking forward to both. I also will be watching Mildred Pierce on HBO, because I make it a point to watch everything they put on TV. And the fact that Evan Rachel Wood gets naked for the first time on screen doesn't hurt.......
interesting finale. i dont know how lip could stay with karen but i do like how him and frank settled things. i think that was the first time i actually saw any sort of real feelings from him. crazy how karen's dad killed himself was hoping a little more fallout from steve's departure/finding out the truth about him glad fiona stayed. really wondering what the fuck is really up with amy smart's character. she used to be so much hotter too
Fucking great season, show met and surpassed my expectations. Can't wait for the second season, sucks we have to wait. Lip is still my favorite, but not sure how he could forgive Karen.
lip is definitely the best character but i truly do not understand. and i know she hated her dad and he fucked her up real bad but if or when they find out about her dad its going to fuck her up even more
abandonment issuses. All the characters have their individual faults. Lip came across as the most well adjusted one, but that can't last.
pretty sure that airport was Midway even though they said O'hare, not like that doesnt always happen but just proud of myself for knowing that being a Midway regular it feels like solid finale, thing i hate is that the show has very solid music on it yet they dont take the time to create a music page on the show's site edit: nevermind, i found the music on the site
Yeah, the music is definitely good. Some Jimmy Eat World to close the show out, no big deal. Had never heard that song (don't think I downloaded their most recent album) but knew it was the JEW.
great show and finale....just a very original idea w/ so many storylines with all the characters...liked the Lip and Frank piss scene, first time they both showed a family connection....Steve/Jim and the blonde from Road Trip leave at least a few open storylines for next season, sucks that season 2 won't come out till next year
Really liked the finale, can't believe the dad killed himself. Jesus that's going to fuck up his daughter even more moving into next season. Also will be disappointed if Steve is gone off of the show, really liked his character and hope he returns. Was nice seeing Frank show some sorrow for once after he got pissed on. Really gonna miss this show until next year.
yeah they play it on IFC i think but i'll probably just stick to the american version. i watch enough tv as it is
You knew the cop/Jimmy thing was going to come to this eventually. Do y'all think he will be back next year?
I think he will almost definitely be back at some point. maybe not as an every episode character, but he's not gone for good. the thing to remember when/if he does come back is that Fiona doesn't even know about the Jimmy thing. she told Debs that she did, but she thought Debs was talking about the fact that he stole cars. Debs did drop the ball to his mom though - I'd imagine we see fallout from that. I could see that being what brings him back into the story. Maybe his family tracks down Fiona.
yeah i'm thinking similarly along these lines. i do think their relationship is over though because i think the point is that fiona picked the family over a relationship
i dont get why everyone says this, every show is shown at the same time every year it's not like shows get multiple seasons within the same calendar year
I loved the finale as well as the season. Lip taking karen back is fucking dumb, but that i really my only complaint. That and I would have loved to have been able to see Fiona all tan on some nude costa rica beaches.
I don't know if Lip fully took her back. Like he said before, that's his best friend. I think it was more about their friendship and him forgiving her than it was about them getting back together. Obviously the dynamic between them has been drastically changed, we'll have to wait until next season to see where it goes.
Great season. Does anyone watch it via streaming links? My friend is looking to watch the last 2 episodes and is afraid to torrance (stupid).
I imagine that'll take place at the beginning of next season. I think that'll be one of the major issues of season 2.
The show is called "Shameless" for a reason. None of the characters really have any shame when it comes to acting on things, because nobody really has anything to lose (or at least that is how they see things). It's the same reason why Lip would take the rap for the stolen car. That was equally, if not more stupid, but that is who everyone s on the show. They are all flawed and damaged, and nobody knows better than Lip what an imbecile Frank can be. Lip doesn't know that it was completely initiated by her, and I am not sure it would matter if he did. I also agree with the best friend sentiments. I think they are more than just fuck buddies.
That was a fantastic first season. I think I'm gonna watch the original version of it pretty soon to see how it compares. Lip's "forgiveness" was more about the bond they have about shitty dads and their connection than him forgetting it all. Loved him pissing on Frank. I both love and hate Frank which I guess was their intention and its been well written and acted to get the audience there. I'm thinking Steve disappears for an ep or two before his mom comes knocking on Fiona's door and we get Steve back early/mid next season.
That's what I was thinking may happen also. I think we definitely see a visit from the mom. I tried looking for clues from the british version, but I got a little confused. Steve is a strong character, and I guess while anything is possible, it's hard for me to see them killing him off at this stage. That said, now that he is done with the car game and probably the mystery, is he still as interesting a boyfriend for Fiona? It's almost like he would have to take on her identity in order for him to survive this on the show.
I don't think it happens, but it would be so cool and dark if Steve came back and assassinated him, since he is the only one who really knows about Steve's crimes.
That wouldnt be a stretch either. He would get to keep his house, possibly fiona, and a boring character is removed from the show.
Didn't know what to think about the show and didn't give it a try early on but was convinced by a friend that I was missing out on a great show. I started watching it yesterday and loved itc so much I'm about to finish it. I'n not sure how to describe it but the acting and characters are perfect for the show and it is an hour of entertainment I know look forward to.
This is how I feel. Liked the show a lot and looked forward to it every week, but really don't know what kind of show it is. I guess it's a family drama? Agreed with a lot of the stuff you said in your post though. The acting on it was really good, which is pretty amazing when you consider how many of the characters were teenagers/kids. Plus Emma Rossum is smoking.
yea the actin was great. I just hope they keep it similar to it's roots as a new season comes and not go crazy like weeds did.
