I know she doesn't care about what I think about her life choices, I listened to But Daddy I Love Him. But blurring the lines between her music and real life has been an essential part of Taylor's brand from the very beginning. She literally spelled out which Nashville future frat stars her songs were about in the printed lyrics of her debut album, 18 years ago. She purposefully sends her fans on Easter egg hunts in the lead up to each album. My point is it's hypocritical to actively encourage her fans to follow the interplay between real life and the page, then get defensive when they develop their own opinions.
Taylor Swift, Childers, and Sturgill are all trash but Alan Jackson and Randy Owen are true songsmiths
Fair enough. I just think it's a little harsh. She wrote a song while she was dating a guy expressing frustration with what people were saying about it. She also wrote songs about why that guy was a douche. She writes songs about her life and her feelings. I guess I just don't take the lyrics to that song as her definitive position on the relationship with her fans. It's a song that she probably wrote in the middle of all that shit while she was feeling loyal/defensive of Healy. I don't see any reason to take it as anything more than that and if anyone is being defensive it's people who are upset by it
Got a notice that Ed Sheeran is doing a one off 10 year anniversary of Multiply show in NYC 3 weeks from now. Taylor has shows 5/19 and then not again until 5/24. Odds she will go home vs staying in Europe? She and Ed have a history of surprise performances together
She's currently playing songs from TPD during her Paris show. Mrs. Scorpio is watching a live stream on Tik Tok (I think?) and freaking out.
Yeah, look at her taking advantage of all those people every night. I bet every one of them leave feeling so disappointed and full of regret! Sold out stadium after sold out stadium just full of people who were forced to pay to be there
I’d guess releasing multiple vinyl versions of her album and other such merch drops and “encouraging” her fans to buy them
Girls at the concert (99% of people at concert) seemed to warship Taylor like my dad and other boomers do Trump. At least Taylor spreads a positive message and isn’t trying to ruin democracy.
Lot of pissed swifties on insta and reddit about her milking more money out of them by selling voice memos of songs.
Free will exists. They can choose to not buy her Purple, Pink, Yellow & Orange albums to complete their "set"... all her "special releases" have one-off songs or easter-eggs & they are mad about that as well They are also pissed her Eras Tour is only available to rent, not buy. Because these dumbasses apparently want to watch it on loop.
The Swifties are militarizing, this has been my biggest fear from the start. Thank heaven I built that bunker.
...or they're not actually Swifties and just saying they are while bitching about something that they know will be a successful engagement farming operation Greedy fucks looking for their shares, impressions, and replies.
Midnights (I think) was a disaster because she put one single different bonus track on like 5 versions of the cd. I only know this because my wife bought 5 versions of it all from different stores. I get the “you don’t have to buy it” but it’s still a ridiculous concept.
