Vasi has been great but the Panthers seemingly have finally solved Tampa's power play. The last two series were completely swung by the fact that tampa could count on 1-2 PP goals each game.
The Lightning have scored a PP goal in each game although the one in game one was with the game decided and only their second opportunity. There were a few last night that were less than a minute. The big kill for the Panthers was obviously the 4 minute one. The Lightning need their PK to be lights out like it was the last two months but they’ve given up one in both games at key points(and didn’t do anything to stop the Panthers momentum in the first last night).
you are right that they have two goals, but they aren't generating much quality with the power play. It's two one off chances that Stamkos blasted home. Other than that, Panthers are keeping the lightning on the perimeter or denying entry into the zone.
I dunno. To me, it’s a 1.5 hour flight. It’s not like they had to fly to California and spend two full days there.
That’s such a short travel they just need to leave the evening before no one is forcing them to sit in Toronto for 2 days
that just means if it happened to me or you we’d be out 12 weeks but since it’s the playoffs they’ll shoot him up and he’ll play
I don't think we really had any Yotes fans on here so hardly any talk on the team here, but I'm very intrigued to see what direction Utah goes next year with a competent owner, because their books and assets are actually in a really healthy place despite all the dysfunction. -They'll have 45 million in cap space next year -Cooley and Guenther both look like they'll be very good players, and Geekie should be coming up next year as well. -They have 10 second round picks in the next 3 years, as well as all their firsts. They could get very aggressive in the trade market if they wanted to.
all the reports are that they are going to be aggressive in Free Agency and with trades this offseason.
Winning immediately made Seattle and Vegas significantly more valuable long term. Best chance they'll ever have to get eyes on their team foolish to not go all in
and they have the assets to do it. Only issue for them will be that it's the first season in forever that most teams will have cap space so it's going to be a sellers market.
Utah’s owner has never been afraid of spending money in basketball. Just couldn’t keep players there.
I think Guentzel either stays in Carolina or goes back to Pittsburgh. He’s reportedly loving it in Raleigh, but obviously the Pens are home for him.
Reinhart should take his sweet time. the man went from 33 to 57 goals as a career high. talk about all the leverage in the world.
I assume that will be less of a problem in the NHL as well. Compared to the NBA, there's a lot more guys that actually prefer the more quiet, laid back lifestyle, as well as less notoriety. IIRC Seguin has said he loves playing in Dallas because even though the fans pack the AAC, he can mostly go about his life as a normal person without being recognized by everyone.
Pleased to see Vlasic get a nod and accept it. He had a great rookie season for a guy without much hype.
Yeah the only one people might recognize outside of a fan like me that’s really in tune to hockey constantly is Benn. Casuals may notice Robertson or Seguin occasionally but that’s about it. I assume that’s the way it is in most American cities tbh. Players in Canada are probably much more likely to be bothered
Boston is pretty small so I could see those players being bothered but I just feel like Americans are so enamored with other sports hockey guys can go under the radar everywhere
I'd definitely try to low ball Ottawa for Chychrun as well. They need a PP QB and it's obvious he doesn't want to be there.
I mean he's worth the contract right now. the bigger issue is the Knight deal. My guess is that Reinhart gets 8x9 Kulikov gets a 1 million dollar deal OEL walks Montour walks Tarasenko likely walks but 20% chance he takes a 2 million dollar deal to stick around
