orange kool aid. You don’t need the metaphor of drinking “the orange koolaid” explained to you, do you?
Depends what flavor of Flavor Aid you mean. Kool Aid gets a bad rap for something they didn’t even partake in!
Tang was weird. It was Gatorade before Gatorade. That astronauts used it stuff worked. Used to love it, but once it got co-opted as slang for vagina game was over
I dunno what it was, it just tasted off, but I only ever had it if I was at a friend’s house. Best orange drink is McDonald’s.
I don't remember it being anything like Gatorade. I just remember it being orange Kool-aid. I just bought some a few years ago, it's mid at best.
I’m saying the phrase “drinking the Kool Aid” means falling completely for deranged ideologies, which was popularized by Jonestown. BUT those cultists were drinking Flavor Aid, the generic knockoff shit.
I’m a little older. This is what the astronauts drank. It really rang. It wasnt a replacement like Gatorade, but when I did sports a kid pre Gatorade it was Tang or Hi C orange. Yet another reason Gen X is a DGAF generation. Replenishment drinks and fruit slices? Try water from a hose or fountain between games.
Jonestown was literally the start of that phrase, right? I’m gonna end up down some weird rabbit holes tonight
no, because Jonestown was Flavor Aid. you'd say it popularized the phrase, however. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drinking_the_Kool-Aid

While we are giving context to idioms, it’s not “low man on the totem pole”. Depending on the culture there is either no hierarchy based on order or the bottom figure is the most important as it’s holding up all the rest. It being eye level also makes it more important to the viewer.
I give Mehdi money because of stuff like this and I think it’s awesome he told MSNBC to fuck off over Gaza
