That possession up 1 with a minute left was the killer. You can’t walk away without a shot. I get using the clock, but I hate holding the ball about as much as prevent defense.
Interested to see how they approach the offseason, need to add a couple contributors through the portal and maybe also politely push out 1 or 2 guys, too. And I wonder if Middleton will stick around, sounds like there were family issues recently at home.
Tough way to end the year, but I feel pretty good about next year, assuming the current core stays together. We need to add a shooting guard that can handle the ball in a pinch, and some size on the interior to spell Felix. That was a hell of a shot by the UGA guard to put them up at the end. Sometimes you just have to tip your hat to the other team. Deibler actually drew up some good sets at the end to get Battle some good shots too.
Idk what to make of Chatman, don’t wanna lose him if he actually has real talent but he looks terrible and body language is worse
Agree. I bet he transfers out after this year. Kind of worried about Middleton too. That would be a big loss
Just noticed that he deleted it, but it was a tweet late in the game about it being around the time that Georgia goes for the kill shot
My feelings on recent games is we had complete shit after top 4 players(Battle gone) and Roddy wasn't very good either, why we need 3 impact transfers. Royal/Middleton 2 guys who could be very good next year Felix is gonna be a monster, get him a real backup See you in October, basketball
Diebler seemed to give Middleton some good PT. Holtmann went away from the young guys toward the middle of the year, even as our slide continued. I hope Chatman gives it another year. He started off the year hurt, so he never got a good chance. Diebler played him sparingly. '' Definitely need to bring in another guard who can score. Also need a big. Love the defense Okpara plays, need his offense to take another step. And stop shooting 3s. Royal should have the 4 spot locked down.
Roddy seemed to hit a wall. Thorton a little bit too, as far as shooting percent and defensive lapses. Those guys played a ton, tho. And really need them back.
I have 2 teams that affect my general mood currently, it’s ok to care while being able to shake off any loss quickly
I'm gonna miss Battle...he was a really nice player. It's too bad there isn't some 8th year COVID exception we can use on him. Okpara was our best player last night...he was a monster inside.
Ate at Subourbon last night before going to the game. It was the best food and drink that I've had in quite some time. The food across the board was just incredible and the service was perfect. Awesome restaurant...huge recommend... https://www.subourboncolumbus.com/menu
Been going to that location since it was the original Hoggy's in the early 90's. It's gone through 4-5 different names since that place closed, so hopefully this one sticks. Menu looks fantastic.
It looks like the Bier Stube is back in the cross hairs of development again. https://www.elevenwarriors.com/skul...rry-johnson-is-chasing-greatness-and-columbus It survived the wrecking ball in 2023 when a six story, 95 unit building failed to gain approval of Columbus City Council. The new proposal is fifteen stories, 219 units. 1993-95, ended pretty much every weekend night there as the last stop before home. Had the brilliant idea to take my wife there on our first date, at which point my ex-girlfriend stole my baseball hat off my head and ran out of the bar.
Jersey Mike's for lunch...almost always get the #56 (big kahuna cheesesteak) but went with a #13 today (original italian) just in case there's a wait in store when i pickup; the app already said that it will be ready in 30 minutes today when it's usually 10-15 minutes. Anyway, just sharing to remind y'all to pick up a sandwich today if you can; i got one for my closest coworker/associate here, too, and all my store's proceeds are benefitting Special Olympics Texas
It used to be everything you could want in a dive bar. -No windows -TVs in each corner -great jukebox -ceiling tiles stained tan with cigarette smoke -faint smell of stale beer -21 and over
Before we built the Schott, baseball and track complexes that area off of Lane Avenue was used by the College of Agriculture to grow experimental hybrids of corn and soy beans. One year, someone snuck into the corn field and planted like 25-30 marijuana plants. They were inside the corn, so you couldn’t see it from the road. A helicopter flying over it noticed the odd pattern, which is how they found out. The cops then confiscated all the plants, and in true Say No To Drugs fashion, actually burned them in a bonfire on Ag Campus. We all wanted to be invited to the bonfire. It was a running joke for a while.
Got Jersey Mikes for lunch and recruited most of my fantasy fb league to do the same. Appreciate you guys reminding folks of the annual day of giving, I wouldn’t have thought to do it otherwise.
The guy who owned the Bier Stube from the 1970’s through the mid-2000’s was Doug Millsap, who was a hardcore alcoholic. He was there every Thursday-Saturday until 11:00, then drive home because he said cops don’t pull you over for drunk driving until Midnight. There were occasions he stayed past 11:00, and would close the place at 2:30 AM but stay there until 6:00, when he said it was safe to drive again. I was pretty good IRL friends with two bar tenders, so there were nights where Doug just locked the front door at 2:30 and we stayed until sunrise.
https://247sports.com/player/kaliq-lockett-46125633/ official fast eddie williams favorite 2025 recruit we have a chance at. watch this god damn highlight tape!!!! 6’7” wingspan. WHAT the FUCK!!
The best night of the tournament is upon us. I love the first and second rounds but this is when the matchups get incredible. Thursday of the Sweet 16 is just the best. It brings back some all time Ohio State Basketball Memories. Ohio State also crushed Cincinnati in 2012 on a Thursday in the Sweet 16.
So many great matchups the next two days. I really want a UConn and Houston. Those teams play remarkable basketball. UConn has it all. Houston never stops running and their defense is relentless. JC kiss of death…it will now be UNC and Purdue….. Bacot and and Davis were in Aaron Craft’s recruiting class.
The Podcast Daily today was pretty interesting as they discussed this topic at length. They did preface all of this by saying that its still so early and theres more than half of spring and all of fall camp. It seems that the major concern right now is that neither Brown nor Howard have the best accuracy, or havent shown it to this point. If that continues, would it bog down the offense because the QB's cant get the ball to the playmakers. Birm did say he thinks Sayin is the most accurate, and if that continues and he can make the necessary reads/plays that he should be considered for the job.
I’m not concerned in the least with a learning curve early in the season, the schedule sets up perfectly to get him up to speed. If you go with an older guy simply because he’s older, then decide you need to change during the meat of the season, you set him up for failure. Now, maybe once they get to more in-game situations the playing field evens out. I just hope that if Sayin is truly the most accurate passer he gets a fair shot at the job. As I’ve said before, I think Day knows he can’t have a repeat of last season and will make the decision that gives the team the best chance to win.
