Having trouble deciding whether I’m mad I have to wait a week between episodes or glad that I wasn’t able to stay up all night bingeing all 10 at once
Really good episode. Lots of intrigue. Will we see the priest from the prison again? Had some interesting insights.
For sure. Like sipping on a good wine. Still, it’s so good so far that I want to be a complete piece of shit at work and watch every season of it right now. I imagine like GoT, I’ll break down after this one is completed and read the book out of impatience
I put it on my kindle yesterday. Prob will start this weekend. Im completely invested after 2 episodes lol
or you could go back and watch the original miniseries (like I started to do), which is somewhat painful so far.
Definitely crossed my mind but was worried it wouldn’t age well and end up tarnishing this experience. Would be interested to read your thoughts as to whether it’s worth it when/if you get further into it
Just finished e2. Spoiler I think one of my favorite parts so far is the church getting exposed. The scene where he drew/explained the map was awesome
Theyre doing the entire 1300 page book in one season. It was always planned to be a 1 season limited series.
Show is amazing and did not know this. I barely remember it being a show before this but I’m loving it.
I think I saw it took them almost five years to make this show. So would be tough to do more than one season.
I think I would have been better off never reading this thread and thinking it would be a multiple season thing. The truth is painful. Maybe after the wild success of this season they'll figure out a way to make more episodes maybe a spin off
There are 6 books in Clavell's Asian Saga in which Shogun is the 1st chronologically. They're historical fiction and are not connected, directly.
I have the premium no commercials whatever but wasn’t sure if it was different with shows that drop a new episode weekly. Thanks.
Does it really? I always assumed from back in the GoT days that it was always Live Cable > Streaming Service when the cable episode concluded. Weird they would release it online before on FX.
GoT would go live on HBO Max or whatever it was called back then at the same time as the episode started.
There was at least a 30min delay there for at least a few years of GoT unless I'm thinking of a different show altogether. Either way, think Shogun is gonna come out at 11c on Mondays on Hulu
there's a delay on Hard Knocks showing up on HBO Max because of the NFL. But GoT and everything is always at the same time.
Throws me off when Blackthorne and Lady Mariko talk about speaking Portuguese back and forth to each other in English. Would honestly prefer the whole show to be as authentic as possible. I’m already reading captions. But that’s a small thing, this show rules
Language has been pretty straightforward for me. Kinda hard to pull off 3 languages spoken frequently. .
