Hope he hits the turnbuckle neck first. So he won’t be able to talk on his shitty podcast for awhile.
Just found this from an article nearly a year ago re: the reason for Holtmann’s extension: “Because of Gene Smith’s stupidity. Smith gave Holtmann a contract extension at the end of last season for no reason. Holtmann had just failed to make it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the fifth-straight year and still had two years left on his deal. Now with the new extension, Holtmann’s buyout has increased to $20 million. That’s a really onerous amount of money to fire a coach. Because of that, he is likely to make it at least one more season. Smith is now hamstrung because of his own stupidity. In no world should the Ohio State basketball program be under .500 after having a top-five recruiting class. That is not the standard of the program. That’s especially true when the team hasn’t made it to the Sweet 16 under Holtmann. It’s clear this job is too big for him.“
It’s $14 mil buyout, it’s fucking nothing He got some Mickey Mouse extension so he could recruit and give him 1 more run at it. His run is over and he’s done.
Muss is having a down year but he’s been to three straight second weekends before this season and is a pretty good recruiter. He’d be a big upgrade over Holtmann. Whoever it is let’s hope the new AD does what he’s known for and use big money to get a big name.
Unless it’s some pipe dream big name like Billy Donovan or Jay Wright, not sure what’s out there Rather get some up and comer. Who that is, no idea
My guess is Indiana moves on from Woodson after this year and they get May...he went to IU and was student manager of the basketball team while there.
Here's a list from a likely stupid person. I just want a change, Gene really isn't leaving the department in very good shape for the biggest sports. Ryan Day is the bright spot of the top 6 sports.
I couldn't imagine what it's like to run OSU social media for basketball. The replies are nothing but #firehotlmann
You mean the sport where there's no playoffs and every game means more than any other sport now since CFB changed Got me
“Coach when you are playing Radford in the CBI, do you think you will continue to play the older/shittier players, or do you think you may try out the youth to gain some experience?”
We’re just staying at Margaritaville in Riviera Maya. Wanted something fairly inexpensive and there was some Black Friday thing going on. Have heard great things about El Dorado Maroma.
I'm sure it'd be difficult to find an NFL team that didn't have a player that wronged HotMic somehow Went into the game happy as can be and viewing it as complete gravy....then that first half happens. That sucked, but the most enjoyable NFL season of my life and they are gonna be good for a while with how young the team is. Very rare a team just runs thru it all their first time in pro sports...there are hills to climb. It just sucks you could taste it at halftime. Very fun team...will fuck again.
Sorry you got caught in the crossfire but every UM fan having their hearts ripped from their chest is a giant plus.
The Nick Bosa over the top hate on this board kinda makes me wanna root for the 49ers even with passionate hatred of the Shanahan family
Chase Young in the NFL is weird because I’m not sure there is another defensive player who was more dominant at OSU in college.
I haven't watch Chase a ton lately, but I think the injuries have caught up to him. He looked incredibly slow and human against the Lions.
